Dubai Hotels

The skyline of Dubai is full of towering, ultra-modern buildings, luxury hotels, and sprawling shopping malls full of the most exclusive designer brands. At night, the city hosts stylish nightclubs and upmarket bars where you might just spot a celebrity or member of royalty. Once you’re tired of the fast-pace of the city, you can relax on the white sandy beaches, with clear blue seas popular with scuba divers and water sports enthusiasts.

Things to see

The majestic Dubai Mall is one of the largest in the world, and while it looks modern on the outside, inside you’ll find Moorish style arches, chandeliers, high ceilings, and even a huge aquarium where you’ll see exotic fish up close. From department stores to designer boutiques, tempting confectionary stores to shops full of the latest gadgets, there’s something for everyone. The Mall of the Emirates is also an impressive domed building with luxurious surroundings, where the focus is on the top international brands. One of the best views of the city can be found on the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa; at 2,722 feet it’s one of the tallest buildings in the world, and the shimmering structure stands proudly above the Dubai skyline. The sprawling Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre has several levels of conference and exhibition space, with corporate events, shows, and expos being held in this impressive, flexible space. If you feel like spending some time in the sunshine, the Jumeira Beach and Park has white sandy beaches, immaculate green parkland, clear blue seas, and swaying palm trees.

Plan or make trip in Dubai

Dubai has long been associated with luxurious hotels, and there are many wonderful 5 star properties to choose from. These hotels offer outstanding levels of service and plenty of extra features such as private beach access, outdoor pools and waterparks, multiple restaurants and bars, 24 hour room service, full-service spas, squash courts, and childcare clubs. The extra amenities carry over to your guestroom, where you’ll find amenities such as jetted tubs, bathrobes, designer toiletries, plasma televisions with DVD players, and separate living areas. There are of course many cheap Dubai hotels, especially if you’re willing to stay further from the popular beach resorts, and you’ll find lots of the popular international chains throughout the city.

Where to stay

Jumeirah Beach has long white stretches of sand and clear blue seas, so it’s no wonder that some of the most impressive, luxurious resorts have been built here. Along the beachfront you’ll find many 4 and 5 star resorts, as well as world-class restaurants and opportunities for water sports. The Bur Dubai area has a rich history, and within its lively, colorful streets you’ll find many well-preserved mosques alongside museums, souks, and textile stalls. Deira is known as the commercial center of Dubai, with tall, shiny skyscrapers and a sprawling mall set over several floors.

How to get to Dubai

Dubai International Airport is just to the east of the city, and once your plan has touched down you can easily grab a cab and get to the city center in less than 20 minutes. Another fast and reliable option is to use the Dubai Metro, and there are several stops such as the Airport Terminal 3 Station servicing different parts of the airport. From here you can get straight to the downtown area and many of the popular resorts and attractions. Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International Airport is less than an hour south of the city, and this is a quieter airport at peak times. Many people arrive here by private jet, with taxi and car services available to take you to the city.
