Pune Hotels

Vibrant, cosmopolitan Pune is a truly modern Indian city, which also justly reveres its incredible ancient heritage. Its first-rate educational institutions attract ambitious youngsters from all over Asia and beyond, and there's an array of great-value eateries and fun nightspots catering to the enormous student crowd. As the first capital of the mighty Maratha Empire, Pune is home to spectacular palaces and temples, as well as some wonderful museums charting its fascinating history. The city is also surrounded by hill stations, which offer jaw-dropping panoramic views of the region.

Things to see

Visitors from all over the world flock to the Osho International Meditation Resort. This world-renowned ashram offers a comprehensive programme of talks, lectures, and meditation sessions, plus all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury spa hotel. The palace fort of Shaniwar Wada is Pune's most iconic historical attraction. Most of the building was destroyed in a fire in 1828, but the surviving ruins remain an awe-inspiring sight. The Rajar Dankar Kelkar Museum is home to a fascinating and wonderfully eccentric collection of Indian arts and everyday items dating back to the time of the Mughal Empire. If you're in need of a retail fix, head to Phoenix Market City. This American-style shopping mall is the best place in town to buy designer fashion, electronics, cosmetics, and other luxury items. It's also home to a state-of-the-art multiplex cinema showing the best of Bollywood and Hollywood, plus an amusement arcade and bowling alley.
