Full of historic charm, highly recommend

Really special place! Feels super historic/authentic while having a fun, whimsical amount of French kitsch. Feels like a members-only club. Bathrooms are particularly lovely, beds are comfortable, lots of closet space, and the staff is really friendly. Be weary that breakfast often isn't included in your rate and the wifi was a little slow for us. Although this was no bother - the only downside is that we didn't see the ghost of Napoleon, a former hotel guest ;)

Historic hotel in the heart of Avignon.

Lovely, historic hotel in the heart of Avignon. Staff was excellent! Very walkable location to stroes and restaruants.. When I checked in I was told that breakfast was included but when I checked out I was charged for each day. The breakfast was rather minimal and the eggs were always cold. Otherwise ths is a very nive place to stay.

We were in room 115. It is a large room but the decor is hideous and it probably hasn’t been upgraded since Napoleon visited. The room smelt strongly of disinfectant when we arrived which when it dispersed left a drain smell. I suspect this is a constant problem. If you are allocated this room then ask to change. The breakfast was poor. It was a buffet but meagre. There was no milk for the cereal. That said the courtyard is good. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed (Monday) but the bar was open and the girl who served us was very helpful and got us some food. It’s a pity because it’s in a good position and could be great.

Old world ambiance, well-trained staff…a little inconvenient to get to, but if you want old world charm, it’s going to be in small, old world streets. We liked being able to just walk out and explore Avignon. Stayed here twice within 4 days and the rooms couldn’t have been more different. The first was very dark and had a heavy brocade feeling to it, the second time we stayed in a room full of light and everything seemed fresher…maybe they are slowly refreshing the whole hotel, I don’t know, but this was our experience.

Fantastic 5 star hotel in Avignon

A fantastic hotel in Avignon. A perfect location for exploring the city and access to shops and restaurants. The rooms were great and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. In particular, Soria was extremely friendly and give us some great restaurant recommendations. And thanks to Martin for letting us back into the hotel at 1 AM. Would definitely recommend.

What a hotel. Long history with high luxury and many prominent guests. It is a quiret hotel where you can bee relaxed from day one. Marvelous breakfast. Unfortunately the restaurant had closed during our stay, so we must come back another time.

To start what really makes this property unique is the staff they are very friendly and willing to help. I had an issue with the WIFI as I needed to join a zoom call for a work emergency and the wifi in the room was sooo bad - inexistant- called the reception and they offered to change the room rightaway, unfortunately the other room had the same issue but I do appreciate how reactive they were. Beside, the property is very nice. The only thing I really didn't appreciate is the wifi, and very limited food options at the bar, beside, its a lovely place
