Would definitely stay again

Staff are amazing, comfortable stay, would definitely stay again when at the races. Customer service when an issue arose after the stay (not the hotels fault) was excellent

Value for Money

Room and public areas of the hotel were a little run down, the staff were friendly and welcoming. A good nights sleep and a decent breakfast.
Tony, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

A great room, highly recommend it for a short stay, the only small downside is the radiator in my room was broken so it was too hot, theres a fan in the room though which helped and they were very kind to let me have a 1pm late checkout, staff are very friendly and its bang in the heart of this beautiful town.
Steve, 1-night trip

Would stay again if in area

Staff are excellent Sorry there weren’t any evening meals on offer , we ended up in Wetherspoons which was pretty good food Beds were very creaky as was the bathroom door. Even though the bar was downstairs we didn’t hear a peep Right on the high street and has its own car park Wi-Fi was disappointing
Janice, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

All ok,but a warning the car park only has eight spaces, for 25 rooms, first come first served.there is another car park a few minutes away it’s £5.60 for 24 hours
shane, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The room was excellent, very spacious and comfortable, especially the bed. The stairs are a bit of a challenge, especially up to the third floor where there is a narrow section, but it is a very old building so this is to be expected. My only criticism has to be the shower. We were up in room 23, and the water pressure is close to zero. Sink and toilet are fine, but the shower is pretty much unusable. This issue urgently needs resolving, but as I say apart from this it was really an excellent stay and we would stay there again.
Ian J, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Room was supposed to be for three adults in three separate beds but there were only two beds (a double and a single)) so one of us had to change hotels at a cost of £80. Please provide a refund.

You cannot expect better for the price with breakfast including
Aiste, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Horrendous room. I paid £144 for a room that had a tiny bed with awful mattress and a shower that couldn’t be used. Was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The second you added the cold to the mixer tap it would go freezing. Impossible to get to a usable or even safe temperature. The pub downstairs was lovely and the staff great. But the rooms were just truly awful.
Gareth, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Room was ok for the price paid. Breakfast, service and staff were very good, but the shower was inadequate with poor flow and inconsistent temperature.
Paul, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Disappointed

Room really hot when arrived, windows wouldnt work in either room or toilet so couldnt open window. Room was booked as a triple but set up as a double and a single. Did the job but a bit disappointing
Chris, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The property is what you would expect in a very old hotel in wales. Tiny tiny bedrooms, fully equipped, obviously no AC.
Gareth, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very handy for trips to Cardiff Concerts

A bit tired hotel which is also a pub Walking distance to Chepstow station and 1/2 hourly service to Cardiff Central
Timothy, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Great location but rooms are tiny. Pillows were plastic and there was an old plastic bag in our shower. Shower barely worked. It was cheap so I guess you pay for what you get? Wouldn’t stay again BUT if you don’t mind the issues I’ve mentioned the location is spot on. Easy parking. Near to everything.
April, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Excellent staff, absolutely top-notch customer service. We were given room 11 at check-in. It smelled very musty and had black mold on the bathroom ceiling. We requested a new room and the staff gave us a much better room and were so attentive to our needs. The hotel is in a great location in Chepstow. The property is tired and worn but it is tidy and a good bargain for a few nights in the area.
Robert A., 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Rooms could do with an update. Bed comfy. Breakfast lovely. Staff very nice.
