Brazil
What you need to know before you go
Brazil has plenty of claims to fame, from the crazy parties and festivals of the cities to remote indigenous tribes, astounding landscapes and incredible wildlife of the Amazon Rainforest. Thanks to its remarkable history, the massive South American country is littered with fascinating and often breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The festivals – such as the famous Rio Carnival – are the real star attractions, though.
And then there are the beaches. You’ll find beautiful stretches of golden sands right by the major cities, including Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis and Fortaleza. Each has an indescribable party atmosphere of its own. It’s a massive country – among the biggest in the world – and is home to many varied cultures, with influences from around the world. Whether you’re in the heart of the cities or as far from them as you can get, a trip to Brazil is sure to be memorable.
