    A bit of feedback

Room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very quick and tasty but a little rushed. Shame the bar closed early and there was no food in the evening. Not the hotel's fault but due to staff shortages, Covid etc.

    Good beds but otherwise disappointing

The advertising said there was on-site parking. There wasn't and the hostess said she could get them to change it. The pub and restaurant were closed for our whole stay. The hostess blamed staff shortages but all three other hotels were running normally. My wife is vegetarian and asked the hostess to leave off all of the meat items and it was fine. The next day she got a plate with half a cooked breakfast and the other half filled with fresh fruit and avocado slices. We realised that this was an attempt to compensate for the lack of vegetarian sausages but she didn't ask her, it seemed strange to mix it on the same plate and my wife didn't want to eat avocado for breakfast so she left it. The next day there were even more avocado and again my wife left it and the hostess, slightly irritated, said she should have told her that she didn't want avocado. I would have thought the fact that we left it the first time was an indication and, even though five minutes before I said I didn't want baked beans, I still got them. We had no problem with the cleanliness of the room, the bed and the pillows were good but the TV didn't work (and we heard from others it didn't either) and the toilet didn't flush correctly. Overall the place looked tired and needs a lot of updating which is sad because it's a beautiful old building. We would have liked to visit the pub and eat dinner there but they were always closed during our stay.

    Good hotel in lovely location

Prince Llewelyn Hotel is a pub and restaurant with around 9 bedrooms in an excellent location with stunning views of Beddgelert. Our bedroom was comfortable and clean, but somewhat uninspiring. The bathroom was good with a new suite and a shower so powerful it pinned you to the wall! Breakfast was a good "full English" (maybe should be "full Welsh"?). The staff we met were kind, efficient and friendly. There were 2 issues: 1. It proved to be impossible to contact the hotel prior to our visit. The phone number provided by went straight to answerphone every time we tried it and the answerphone told us it was full, and an email was not replied to and probably not read. 2. This is a old building, so don't expect easy access. All bedrooms are upstairs (ours was up 2+ flights of steep stairs) and there seems to be no lift. Would we visit again? Yes, probably, if we can still manage the stairs.

    Overprices, inconsiderate and poor rooms

We were called 2 hours before arrived (5.30pm) and told due to staff shortages no bar or food would be available. I think this was far too late notice and it did make me wonder if they left it so late so I had no other option but to stay. I was travelling with my elderly mother and only one other hotel local did food and it was full by then meaning we could not eat for the entire evening without travelling about 25 mins and by then she was far too tired. As soon as we arrived the lady who checked us in rushed off meaning there was no staff on site that I could see. Hotel was overpriced and in very poor condition.. Happy to pay higher fee for a good quality hotel but feel they are taking advantage of staycation situation and hiking up prices as they can get away with it. Disappointed by a hotel with no staff and poor rooms.

Disappointment on the food service times.

Arrived around 5pm only to find the doors locked. Spoke to someone who let us in, only to find that they stopped serving food at 5.30pm and the bar shuts not long after. We was told that it was due to staff shortages and there was a pub across the road serving food at 6.30pm. Had I have known this prior I would have booked elsewhere. Booking said continental breakfast, but was actually a cooked breakfast which was a bonus I suppose. Booking confirmation says free off street parking, but getting a space is virtually impossible. So had to park in the paid car park around the corner. Which cost £5.50 for the overnight tariff. More information would be better for guests staying regarding food and drink serving times. Other than that, it was ok stay in a lovely area.

Friendly staff. Limited choices to eat in the evening as it's in a small village otherwise you'll need a car. The Inn opposite offered excellent evening food though. No onsite parking so you'll have to find an available space somewhere, a few of which are dead opposite the river. Room was on small side made worse by poor room layout as the bathroom sink was in the main guest room. The sink could have been located in the bathroom had not a recent bath had not been installed which took up the room. Patchy hotel WiFi due to thick walls. Theres obviously a good number of walking trails which start in the village plus it's only 25min drive to Llanberis if you wanted to walk up Snowdon. There is a decent convenience store 1min walk away if you need anything.

Beautiful hotel &setting disappointed with service

Beautiful setting and lovely room. Disappointed to arrive at quarter past 8 in evening and food service had early stopped at half past 7, no other venues service food after 8 within this or next village. Tried to phone 4 times on tracel up to indicate late arrival but no answer to support late arrival. Breakfast start late in the morning at 8 which if planning a snowdon walk means you arrive at peak times.
