Although the hotel is advertised with ocean views and balconies with gardens, we were in a dark, ground floor room without a balcony, and our view was the side of a shipping container that had been made into a noisy workshop. This was not the tropical getaway with sea views and sounds of surf that was promised. The hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating when available, but you could not rely on the posted office hours.

False advertisement.
This hotel uses false advertisement. The room description says there is a couch and living area in the room but when we got there the room was smaller than shown abs there was no couch. Also the lady who attended to us was rude. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Go somewhere else
We were in Placencia for diving. At check in, everything seemed okay and the room looked nice. But when I had trouble making the TV work and asked "Cindy" the girl working there to help me, She said that they did not have TV service. But there are TV's in the rooms. Yes, but the hotel does not have service. Had I known this, I would have chosen any one of the other local places. Upon returning from our first day of diving we found that the room had not been made, the trash had not been taken our or any kind of service to the room at all. We didn't say anything about it the first day but after the second day, when the room had not been cleaned we asked why and were told they don't clean rooms. Considering that in this hotel you are expected to put your toilet paper in the trash can and not in the toilet, after three days of no room cleaning this was a problem.
