4/10 Fair

We arrived at the hotel and they said they did not have the room we reserved for us. They were out of that type of room and they could try to put us somewhere else, however, the rooms available would not accommodate 4 people. I made the reservation months in advance too. I would not go back there.

Lovely hotel
Spent a week with family and decided to spend our last night exploring Boston. We were looking for a nice hotel close to Faneuil Hall and the airport. We loved the hotel. Full of history and comfortable!

Downtown Boston hotel great for sightseeing
Stayed whilst visiting Boston. Old historic hotel with its own history. Beautiful wood panelled foyer dotted with famous guests who have stayed over its history. Centrally located so a breeze to see the sights; 5 minutes walk to hop on hop off trolley bus tours. Close to Quincy Market. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom a little small but practical. We'd requested a fridge and one was provided. Staff super helpful friendly and polite. Their knowledge of the hotel and surrounding areas was great. Shout outs to Richie the doorman, DJ the bell boy, Abdul valet and Mohammed on the front desk who checked us in. I've read people on moan and whinge about the Parker House and all I can say is that we found it great and no more expensive than other hotels in large cities, both in the US and in the UK. Valet parking is $57 a night which is on a par with Chicago AND cheaper than in Seattle. I sometimes wonder if people expect the world for a pittance.

8/10 Very good

Very enjoyable stay!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The hotel is full of character being one of the oldest functioning hotels in the US. It is perfectly located in the heart of Boston city just 5-10mins walk from Faneuil Hall and Boston Common and subway stations in all directions. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers and the one room accommodated us very well with 2 queen size beds and a big pull out couch. It was very clean with a good TV/wifi and air conditioning. The only downside I would say is that the light in our room during daylight hours was very poor to the point you had no sign of the beautiful sunshine outside. The electrical lighting did not help the situation and therefore the room appeared dreary/gloomy. Our room was at the back of the hotel on the 7th floor and I understand the hotel is overshadowed by other high rise buildings but I would think modern bright lighting would help brighten the room. Bearing that in mind I still would recommend anyone to stay here :))

The Parker house is an old grand dame of a hotel that is modern but showing it’s age. The pluses are it is historic, in downtown, and a step back in time. It is also where they invented the Boston Cream Pie which you can enjoy on site. The historic relevance is what makes it cool. You get to live a piece of history when you stay in Boston

Excellent location
Being in a big city and being an older hotel the bathroom was very small with no counter space. There was also no refrigerator available. But the linens were lovely and service was impeccable. Location was perfect.
