Kentucky visit .
Although an older property of Marriotts we enjoyed our stay here in Louisville . The staff were always welcoming . One maintenance issue was quickly resolved . The location is quite convenient to the highway and various restaurants and attractions.

Ratings for this property are misleadingly high
AC did not work the first night, but was fixed the next day. TV cable channels did not work, and furniture appeared to have been splattered with paint. Floor in kitchen was sticky. But the thing that will absolutely keep us from coming back were the bed bugs. My wife and I both had a few bites, and did not know from what, until I caught a live bed bug full of blood walking across the bed cover on the last day. I squished him with a paper towel to avoid making a blood stain on the bed. It seems to me that the reported ratings are way too high for this property. My guess is that the property was once a nice place to stay, but has been allowed to deteriorate and is now insufficiently maintained, cleaned, refurbished and fumigated. If you look through the reviews on this site and the hotel's site you will notice that the most recent reviews are heavily in the "disappointed" range, while the older reviews are more positive.

The room was not cleaned. Their was dirty towels hanging from the down stairs shower rod. And in the bed was a receipt from previous guest. I was also asked to provide a credit card. And was told i had to have it on fill. But nothing would be charged to it. It was for i bought anything while was their. Then $30 was charged to it . I did not buy anthing or use anything from the hotel .

You get what you pay for I guess, but it seems we had some particularly bad luck with our room. The cabinets hadn't been cleaned out, so there were two bags of Panera bread that had long since molded over from a previous tenant which were attracting flies. In addition, there was a small bloodstain on the carpet by the bathroom that didn't appear to be treated at all, and the shower curtain was notably dirty as well. All in all, the rest of the room was reasonably maintained, and the price was good, you might just be playing a bit of roulette with cleanliness at this place.

Liked the layout and soundproofness. But 2 yapping dogs were under me and they barked at anythjng they heard outside. Loud HVAC downstairs. Needs an exterior paint job. Had outdoor pool advertised on Expesia but did not indicate pool closed after Labor Day. Needs to be noted.
