SEEhotel Friedrichshafen

My experience on Seehotel is two-fold - On one side, I had the best hosting I ever had in Germany, by far! Antonella, at the front desk, provided me with concierge service that would make Mr. Gustav, from the famous movie Grand Hotel Budapest, extremely proud. They even prepared me a secret happy birthday decoration while I was having breakfast. I couldn't have higher thoughts about the quality of work from this hotel employee. On the other side, but made completely irrelevant by the astonishing professionals working there, the infrastructure could be surely improved. The presidential suite is located on the 5th floor, only reachable by stairs from the 4th floor. The same thing applies for parking, there is not reserved parking space for the presidential suite. I would expect that the room, by its price, would have some minor perks - carrying heavy bags on the stairs wasn't specially pleasant. There's also no luggage carrying service - but this may have been a side effect from the corona outbreak. Overall I highly recommend the hotel, specially by the people I have met there.

I have never written a hotel review, but on this occasion I feel that it is justified. Looks nice on the outside and certainly convenient for train station, buses, ferry, etc, but probably won't stay there again. There were multiple room issues: Change of room due to poor WiFi. light bulbs & fridge not working in 2nd room. Breakfast management was disappointing, with breakfast cereals running out and the same (dirty) serving containers still being used for the following day. No accommodation for gluten free requirements - and unfortunately, the only remotely suitable cereal that I could have eaten was one that ran out and not replenished. The hotel checkout time policy is 10am was not clearly enough communicated, which resulted in a rather abrasive call to my room from reception at 10:55am, asking when I was going to leave, and in a tone that suggested a complete lack of concern as to why I had not checked out. So the departure was stressful and rushed. When checking out, I asked to speak the manager, I was challenged with a one word response "Why?" as if I had to justify the need to speak with someone in charge. The manager that I was eventually able to speak with was apologetic for the series of issues, but then attempted to justify the 10am checkout time as appropriate as most of their guests would check out by 10 anyway. I found this a little disingenyuous and revealing

Lovely hotel in nice location at very reasonable price.

No elevator or helping personnel available at normal working hours, to get to the Suites or fifth floor. How you do with your luggage. The view it’s excellent if you survive to climb up to the fifth floor for the more expensive units of the Hotel. The front desk one person staff, is as cold as ICE, no help at all,maybe only when I told him, he was a Five Star General in Town, so he could help us to find a restaurant, he took the telephone and call to two restaurants. But as cold as ICE. This is my second time in this Hoyel in three years and the concept I had before, now is COLD AS ICE TOO. One smiling face it’s a gift!!!
