Profile: Theater District

Profile: Theater District

The Theater District is home to a number of fantastic venues, including the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), a Tony Award-winning institution that’s the largest theater company in San Francisco. For a festive holiday experience, catch a production of A Christmas Carol in their Beaux Arts-style theater, and then take a stroll to nearby Union Square, where natives flock to see the magnificent Christmas tree and ice-skating rink.

The Theater District offers plenty of options for fussy gourmands and laid-back chowhounds alike, and visitors can grab a Show Dogs hot dog on Market Street or a 4-course meal from Sons & Daughters.

    Only downside, customer service...

As much as I wish I could say that I give this hotel a 10/10, there was one downside that we encountered during our stay, which was customer service. We came from out of town, and our trip was a little faster than we had anticipated. We arrived about 8 minutes before official check-in time, and decided to see if it was okay to get the check in process started. When we arrived to the front desk, we told the receptionist the situation and that we knew we were early. Aside from acknowledging the fact that we were early, we even offered to wait in the car until 3:00. The receptionist, who did not have a mask, kept making a face and reminding us that we were early. After telling him once again that we could wait in the car, he raised his voice and told us that he would just check us in. In all honesty, he seemed annoyed the entire time, and was very short with us. When we checked out we encountered the same receptionist along with another female receptionist who had the same before. When we called down for our car, she told us 30 minutes. We went down at the right time, and our car hadn't even been called. The hotel and stay were great, and the man from Valet was such a gentleman! The customer service at the front desk just needs a little work, even if it's late at night or early in the morning.

    Good place to stay

The hotel was very good- clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds. The only downside was the neighbors who were fighting in the room from 3a.m. to 5a.m., they were loud and I had to finally call the reception so that they could calm them down, it worked. Also the area is close to Tenderloin, so you really have to watch out where you are turning)

10/10 clean and safe! They provided proof that the room had been cleaned (tape on door with date and time of room cleaning, tape around toilet, TV remote with plastic wrap). All items (soap, lotion etc) were individually wrapped. I didn't even spot a hair on the bathroom floor! Bed sheets were crisp and free of stains. Cleanest hotel room I have been since COVID. Complimentary wine and cheese was such a great touch. Including their free packaged breakfast. Historical building gave it that extra touch as well! Loved my entire stay, def would recommend and come again.

    Comfy clean historic SF hotel

We stayed one night at the Beresford arms for a little weekend trip to San Francisco. The hotel is fantastic! We arrived a few hours before our check in time wanting to store our luggage so we could go explore the city without fear of our luggage getting stolen, well instead of letting us store our luggage, they got us right into a room! Even better was that that the room was an upgrade for us. The room was clean and spacious. The only downsides are parking and the breakfast, but we completely understood because they are short staffed since they are reopening after being closed because of the pandemic. We parked over night on the street right in front of the hotel, the hotel recommends a parking garage down the street but it’s $50 a night to park there. We took our chances and parked on the street. They give you little breakfast boxes that are pretty basic, but of course this is because of covid so that’s fine! Overall, we loved this hotel!

Ok would probably try it again

The hotel is beautiful but the suite wasn’t cleaned well and the toilet was clogged and was never fixed before checking out, we were given a plunger instead…there is no space to park to check in so be prepared to drive around while a spot is available or park far away and walk to the hotel to check in. The parking garage they recommend is 40 bucks a day so keep that in mind as well. Over all the location on the hotel is in a good spot to walk around and explore
