For that bachy feel, this one is perfect, still comfortable

Great balance of old bach and comfortable furniture, including good fridge, decent bathroom, toilet off the back porch, excellent heater. Lots of books, pile of DVDs, a few games. Good for a family or couples who get on well and are happy to share the bathroom. Bigg kitchen and lounge. Great location - easy to walk into Opononi and a nice swimming spot about 100 metres along the road. Friendly locals :)) Only suggestions - ditch the white duvet cover unless you want to wash it a lot, could use a couple of new pillows. Lovely weekend and gorgeous view straight out the window.

    Iconic beauty

We loved our little getaway in this iconic bach. Located in the most beautiful spot. Views were amazing, check-in easy, and the interior was well equipped with everything one needs for a few days of bliss. We will surely be back - Thank you for sharing this little gem with us!! L&S

Awesome views but property in need of an upgrade

Positive - The property is spacious and has amazing views of the harbor. It had a fully equipped kitchen. The deck at the back provided respite from the heat. The beach is across the road. Property is located at a walking distance from shops and restaurants. Negatives - The property really requires an upgrade, esp the chairs and couches in the lounge were old and dirty. The property gets really hot in the afternoons and even with the doors and windows open it wasn't much help, a fan would have been useful. We had to clean the property before we left but we couldn't find a vaccum or broom or cleaning products. I think getting rid of rubbish should be the owners responsibility. Considering the price being charged was similar to other modern batches in the area, i would expect better provisions.

    The quintessential Kiwi bach

Fabulous location and a real old school Kiwi experience. We loved it and would definitely luke to come back one day. However it would be good if t-towels and a dish cloth could be provided or at least spelt out clearly on the notes that need to bring these. Also a coffee plunger would be great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Comfy beds, plenty of room for our group of five, good parking, well equipped kitchen, brought back some lovely memories for me, especially the table and chairs, baker light door handles & switches, old flour store cupboards from a different era, and even the clothes line was a quirky little treat. Older but that's what made it so cool. awesome Fruit trees, had fejoas for breakfast. Someone's comment I read before we went mentioned can opener no good, maybe we got a new one but worked a charm. I guess not for everyone as its not modern and sparkly but perfectly situated and a real delight. We will definitely be back. Beautiful view. Go do the sand surfing, lots of fun. Everyone we met in the area was super friendly. Thanks for an awesome family memory

Lovely Opononi Bach - an oldie but a goodie!

Had a lovely stay. The Bach was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the back deck for a large group for meals. Had everything we needed and great position opposite the water with beautiful views and central to everything.
