I understand there’s a staff shortage everywhere, but waiting to check in and checkout was a nightmare. Also no one told us we had to schedule room service to come clean our room and get fresh towels. Was trying to call room service but had problems with the phone. Other than that nice hotel and area!!!!!

Upon arrival my room wasn’t ready. Each time I went to check I was told “15 more minutes.” Imagine how 15 minutes turned into 3 and a half hours!! And for compensation.. a free drink. I will say the staff was super friendly, but the hotel is understaffed obviously. Room was clean thankfully. Bed wasn’t comfortable though. Overall l, I’m not coming to marriot again due to a previous stay, this just took the cake for me.

Worst hotel experience
The outside of the hotel looked nice, located in a great neighborhood, plenty of parking spaces. The lobby was fairly spacious. We arrived at 4:30p to check in. There was about a 15-20 minute wait in the line. The lady at the front desk said that housekeeping was in the middle of cleaning our room and should be less than an hour and she took our phone number to call us when our room was ready. We left to eat dinner and came back at 7:20pm, and went to talk to a different lady at the front desk. We told her that we did not receive a call, and stated they haven’t even started cleaning our room. Stated that she needed my phone number again. I asked her about the hot tub that was shown on hotels.com, she stated that they don’t have one. I told her that was false advertising. She stated that hotels.com does that. She gave me two cards up to $10 each for drinks and hors d’oeuvres. We ended up going to the outdoor pool to swim, no towels available outside. We got a call around 9:02pm stating our room was ready. Next morning we went to check out. The man at the front desk did not ask how our stay was, asked him for a receipt and said it would be emailed to me. He was rude and short with me. Didn’t even thank me for staying at the hotel. This by far has been the worst experience we ever had, especially for the type of hotel we stayed at. Very unhappy about the way it all turned out and disappointed. There were multiple families dealing with the same issue in the lobby.

Cannot wait to go back!
We were very pleased with our stay. There were a few glitches with check in time and breakfast lines, due to understaffing, but the staff went above and beyond to keep things running smoothly. The head of housekeeping was waiting tables and staff were working extra shifts. The food was excellent (try the fish tacos) and the hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pools. The surroundings are picturesque with a lovely lake and a beautiful 1.5 mile hiking/running trail right outside the back door. Room was spacious, comfortable, and had a wonderful view. With great restaurant/bar and wonderful staff we cannot wait to go back.
