Although this hotel is very cool with a lot of history it needs some major improvements. From the carpets to the hot tubs it needs some TLC. I’m usually a 3 star hotel guy, meaning I don’t need anything too fancy but for the price you’re paying nightly and the fact that I went for my honeymoon, I feel like the hotel should have been a bit nicer. When we got back home I found an article stating the hotel will begin 120 million dollar upgrades which will be completed by summer of 2023.

We had a nice time, but felt it was overpriced. We don’t plan to return because we feel there are plenty of other nicer places to stay for the same or less cost. Given the price point, we expected things to be better maintained, in working order, and properly staffed. We wanted to book spa services but nothing was available so we did the serenity garden; many of features like a warm pool, experience showers, one of the saunas were not working, and the cafe didn’t open on time bc there wasn’t staff. The carpeting in the common areas are badly worn, we noticed small things like towel bars or toilet paper holders were broken. We saw two roaches during our stay. There is a $40 resort fee charged per night, so keep that in mind when you are pricing the room. Didn’t see employees of color in management roles or working in high profile stations like the front desk. Almost no one wore a mask. The masking policy for employees is voluntary, and very few guests wore them.

Greenbrier is not too far from here!
This was by far my WORST experience at Homestead. Hotel showed it's age, insects all over the room, check in was well after 4 pm and the staff just did not give a damn (except for one employee)
