A great family run Hotel
Our first time to Rome and we wanted to stay close to the train station. We choose Hotel Valentino Palace and could have not found a better family run friendly place to stay. Luca the hotel owner looked after all our needs. He and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was very well laid out and clean. The restaurant next door run by his father is a great little gem. I did read on other reports that people were concerned about the area. We had no issues! It is a big city and you have to be mindful of the people around you like any other big city. They are doing renovations which did not cause us any disturbances. It is great to see that they are investing back into the business!

Clean Room and Comfortable Bed…Only 1 hiccup.
Me and my girlfriend stayed in the standard double bedroom. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The only downside to our stay, was on the last night people were smoking in their bedroom on our floor. Unfortunately, the smell was creeping into our room which was very unpleasant. However, there was no staff to inform to as the reception closes at 12:00am.

Cannot recommend Valentino "Palace"
Location near train station is convenient. Staff is friendly and helpful. Locked steel gates overnight for security. Now for the bad: area is not good (someone attempted to steal from my backpack twice while walking to and from the hotel). Walls are paper thin to the point you can understand conversation in the next room. Elevator broke multiple times, not convenient when on the 5th floor. WiFi is slow during the day when it is working, but can't even load a webpage in the evening. Bed is big and sheets clean, but mattress was hard and terrible for side sleepers with no give to the springs.
