I would stay here
Everything about this hotel was excellent, I just don’t feel I should have to pay $17 for parking at a hotel that I’m paying to stay yet

Nice room - location sucks.
Couldn’t believe you charged for in-covered parking and view of I-5 and homeless camp left a lot to be desired.

Not my favorite...
I understand this hotel is in a large City but to get to it you have to drive by multiple transient camps and they are very close to the Hotel. It made me quite nervous to park our vehicle and leave it over night as there is no on site security and the parking lot is dark and easily accessible. If I had to choose again, I would have stayed someplace else from a safety concern.

Would stay again
Overall clean and comfortable, some construction inside the hotel so does not look aesthetically pleasing to the eye on the floor i was staying at. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Thank you. I would stay again!

Poor 2.0
Hygiene
The purpose of my trip to Salem was business. I was hired to perform stand up comedy. When you show up for business I believe appearance is everything. When I arrived to the hotel the front desk attended informed me that my room did not have water pressure. I didn’t think she meant literally, but she did. My room’s shower not only didn’t have pressure but it barely released water. I wasn’t able to take a thorough shower, get my self cleaned and ready for my performance. Being a professional entertaining includes good presentation. And getting up in the morning and not being able to shower properly was not acceptable as well. The front desk offered to not charge me for $7 parking which I appreciate, but I believe more of a financial reimbursement is justified.

Fair 4.0
Complete disappointment!
We are on a family trip and on the day we stayed at Double Tree we were looking for a nice place to stay for it was my daughter's birthday. Paid a lot a money for the room and was extremely let down. The whole floor we we're staying at had flooded and it smelled horrible, they had heating and ventilation going all night. Then to my surprise I was charged for parking, after such a high price and horrible conditions, I really didn't want to pay any extra anything. The front desk was not very friendly and no one bothered to inform us about the situation with the flooding.

Terrible experience, truly awful
The stay was ok. Salem had an ice storm in the days before and a pipe had burst in the hotel. Our floor had walls and ceiling that was torn apart bc it had been flooded. The hallway was full of fans in an attempt to dry it out. It was loud but not too bad in our room. Upon booking through hotels.com, there was an optional charge for a breakfast buffet, which we paid for. However, the hotel informed us that they didn’t offer a buffet due to Covid but they offered a free continental breakfast to everyone. I had to contact hotels.com to get refunded for that charge. Well, while I was packing up my hotel room, my two children were playing with the safe in the room. They managed to get it open and they found something inside. I am very sad to report that it was a HUGE rubber dildo. Used. Clearly left by a previous occupant. It made me question how clean the room might have been. I’m surprised that they don’t check these safes after each stay. Thank goodness it wasn’t a gun or something dangerous. So, we will not stay here every again. I’d add a photo of the found dildo but they probably wouldn’t allow it.

Charlie the guest supervisor is incompetent and rude! Worst stay at a Double Tree ever! Not worth the price paid! They nickel and dime EVERYTHING! But the lack of customer service was the worst
