    Worn Down Old Rooms

Rooms are outdated, no water pressure in the old showers and they charged me an additional $150 per night to upgrade (realistically a downgrade) to a room with double beds since a friend joined last minutes. I went in their website and that same exact room for my dates was $430 per night. My upgrade costs means I was essentially paying $700 a night for a tower room that should have been $430… I would have been fine with just paying my normal fees and downgrading without a refund. But to charge more like they did is messed up. Also very expensive at the pool. I may drink a lot with my friends so I get it. But I paid $1700 for three days of chilling by the pool and drinking and eating with friends since each drink is an average of $18 to $30 dollars.

It was okay, hotel rooms need updating, COVID-19 mandates were a pain, but service & staff were great. Restaurant options on hotel campus limited

  • 8.0.Very good

Great location, good service, room inefficient.

The hotel is in a great location, was clean and not overcrowded. The outdoor bar and cleaning staff were great - efficient and friendly. It is a bit expensive, even in the off season and the balcony design is ineffective for maximum ocean views (unless you are in the south side of the building). We had a very large room, but seating was not great - and we had to do a lot of business work in the room, not the most comfortable for that. Also, if you are on the west side of the hotel, the street noise is annoying at night (performers & restaurant music).

    Not worth the price

Rude staff, smelly hallway, loud entertainers street level where we got our room.. stay at the Royal!

    Very disappointing experience.

The daily resort fee had no benefits as there was minimal entertainment, a small pool, no hot tub, no free beach chairs, no snorkeling options, continental breakfast, etc. I would never return.

    Beautiful beachside hotel

This is a beautiful hotel and right on the beach. I found it very clean and modern, especially considering it is the oldest hotel in Waikiki. The staff were all welcoming and helpful. The only downside was our room and bathroom were quite small, but we had a view of the ocean and fell asleep each night hearing the waves. I would definitely recommend if your budget allows.
