A Very Good Budget Hotel with Great Staff
We have stayed at 4 Monkeys in Bangkok on three occasions in the last 2 years. We keep returning because the staff are wonderfully kind and helpful. The rooms, while quite small and basic, are clean and pleasantly decorated and equipped with a fridge with free bottled water supplied daily. One of the great advantages of the hotel is its location. It is in a quiet soi (lane) off the Samsen road, making it much more peaceful than locations on or closer to Khao San Rd - yet it is a pleasant 10 minute walk to all the hustle and bustle of the famous tourist mecca. Another advantage is its association with Street Hotel opposite, allowing you to use their pool and facilities. Overall I'd say that 4 Monkeys is a very good budget hotel. Our only issue would be the lack of space to work in the rooms and the buffet breakfast (which I think many people enjoy but we feel could be improved).

Worth the money
Our stay on 4 Monkeys was pleasant. The staff is friendly and kind. We stayed on the 5th floor. We could hear the guests above us talking, walking and when they dropped something. Walls are thin. The shower doesn't have hot water (not that we needed it, just giving a heads-up). We were given water and coffee everyday and you can choose to enjoy their breakfast buffet for around 200 baht per person.

location as alright. bathroom accesories is terrible. silly placement of basin's tap. makes me unable to properly wash my face. hot water is not consistant, constantly changing between hot & cold water through out the day. poor sound insulation from the bedroom door. with constant banging of room doors when open & close.

Fabulous stay!
Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were super friendly and our room was comfy and cleaned everyday. You can use the pool at the hotel opposite which was a huge bonus for us! The hotel is walking distance to Koah San Road and there’s plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops around. The only thing is it’s not close to any metro station or the BTS and we found Grab’s took a long time to get to us and were quite expensive if you wanted to get to the other side of the city.
