The service left alot to be desired, very slow, room was not cleaned till very late.....condition of room average....claimed got upgrade, not true as i checked and was same room i booked.....so why offer VIP and not honour it....did get bottle of wine hotel claimed as gift....not rrue as this wS part of staying in VIP property...only goid thing was location

Great hotel.
Not the most convenient to the some of the tourist spots but it very comfortable and quiet at night. Everything in Rome is relatively close. Do you really want to stay in the middle of all the tourist action. The Vatican is right there on the hotel doorstep. And good restaurants are just around the corner. Great hotel.

The photos of the hotel looked great, and the location seemed ideal but after traveling through Italy and staying at similarly priced and rated hotels, this one surely does not deserve the high rating or the rates they charge. The location is not at all ideal unless you only want to visit the Vatican, right by a highway-like road, felt like a very random location that is far from most other landmarks or decent restaurants. The hotel despite some clues of renovation felt outdated for the price and rating it has, and for me at least, there was a weird very unpleasant smell to the rooms, as if they were once flooded, smelled of wet walls, and dampness. I looked up the reviews to see if anyone seemed to have this experience and seems like quite a few people shared this sentiment. I worry it has some mold in the air system since there was no real air conditioner and only a vent. When we called to ask about the TV channel availability, they simply would not pick up the phone. Breakfast, in comparison to the two other hotels we stayed at, was not great at all, very bare minimum selection, and what was there was not that appetizing. Overall, disappointing stay, unfortunately.
