Benson Guest House is very conveniently located on the edge of the central downtown area. The room and bath were spacious, spotless, and nicely updated. The common areas were also nice. We prepaid and never saw a staff member, so can’t speak to that. Our room was at the front, and as others have mentioned, there was excessive road noise. It did quiet down later in the night. The room was sparsely furnished, and could have used another chair (there was only one) and a credenza or luggage stand for suitcases. There is a closet for hanging items. While we had ample bath towels, we were only provided with one hand towel and one washcloth. Also did not have a place to hang towels other than one small hook. The breakfast was a package of instant oatmeal and a package of dry cereal. Milk was provided in the frig in the room. There were no coffee cups at 8:00 in the morning. Not sure if other guests had used all of them or ??? Overall, we will probably give the Benson another try, but will choose a room located further back from the street, and determine whether the lack of attention to some details was a one-time oversight or the norm.

Excellent stay
Enjoyed our stay- nice seating area outside our room. Can walk to numerous restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious, very clean and had a small refrigerator. The common area has a microwave, ice machine and coffee machine. We would definitely stay here again.

Quaint, clean and quiet. Great location near restaurants and a park with a nice walking trail. The decor gave proper due to the history of the property without being stuffy. Modern, clean lines and updated amenities. Would definitely stay again.

We like the location of the place. Very clean. Convenient location to the downtown area. We did not like the road noise. Lots of trucks rumbling past the place made it hard to sleep. Too many feral cats in the outside common area.

Great room, very clean and comfortable.. Easy check in and they were very accommodating to our schedule. If I'm in Uvalde again, I will definitely see if they are available.

Stayed in Uvalde on our way from Houston to Big Bend National Park and this was absolutely THE place to stay. Very clean and modern on the inside with impeccable design. Also full of history! This was supposed to just be a quick stopover, but now we want to come back to Uvalde from Houston just for a staycation at Benson House; it was THAT incredible!

Labor Day Getaway Weekend
Perfect set up for a quick family get away. Some of our in-laws also booked a night there the same weekend and it was super easy to meet up with them for lunch/dinner. And within great walking distance of several cute stores in the area.
