This review assumes you get an ocean view room. If you don't, you're missing the whole experience. We stayed in two different rooms, both had good to excellent wifi. Both were good sized, but the one with 2 double beds was full of beds. Obviously. The view balconies are fantastic. A triple sliding glass door opens up the entire room to a view of the beach, the palms, the never-ending parade on the Malecon across the street, and the sunset. Besides being on the Olas Altos prime beach strip, it's only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the historic center, including plaza mechado, the central market and the central cathedral. Numerous great restaurants are within a couple of blocks. There is no elevator, depending on your fitness, you may want a room on the second floor. No refrigerators, but there's a great little store in the same building, get a cooler and a bag of ice for about $5. And they've got 'cervecas' on ice! We stayed in January, and we got all that for $45/night. Do yourself a favor, book it! Try to get a king bed (for a couple) on the second floor. Other reviewers have complained about construction. Yes, there is construction around, but the road and beach walk (Malecon) are finished. It also appears that the room remodels are complete. Hard beds and street noise? You're in Mexico! This is not the Hilton. It's $45/night! Embrace it. And bring earplugs.😁
