8/10 Very good

Grade: B
Clean and spacious rooms. Picnic area as part of the property is nice. The property is right on the Highway, so you can hear traffic all times of day and night. Call ahead to restaurants. I was here in October and the restaurants closed down very early or were closed for a couple of days midweek.

Overall a good place to stay
We stayed two (2) nights at Bailey Lodge in Bailey, CO. First impression was that it was an older lodge, and had not been recently updated for at least 10 or 20 years. The room was fairly clean, however, we did find that there were spider webs in the bathroom (with live spiders), dead bugs smashed and stuck to the ceilings and window sills, and the carpet was stained and needed a good vacuuming as there was dirt and pieces of dried mud. The beds were stiff, and not all that comfortable, but they were made, and there were plenty of fresh fluffy towels for us to use. The room had a small kitchenette, with a double hotplate to use as a stove. The provided dishes were all mostly cleaned spotless, and they had all the basic necessities if you were to cook. The grounds are wonderful, and they have many hanging potted flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders, so there are always a TON of hummingbirds flying to and from. They also have a pond that you can fish from, so long as it is only catch and release. The bad: Our heater went out once each night we stayed, sometime late and night, so we always woke up freezing cold. It was raining the entire time we stayed, so the temperatures dropped to the low 40s at night. When we tried to call the office to get the heater fixed when we woke up, we found they don't have the office or phones staffed 24/7, and had to call the phone number provided to us about a million and a half times before a sleepy voice answered to help us out.
