We shook hands as you said you would talk to Hotels.com about me having been charged twice for this accomodation, and begged me to please not write a bad review. But in this you betrayed my trust and good will. You did not get in touch about Hotels.com about this matter. And you did not respond to their attempts to get in touch with you, after I told them about my experience. Now they will not refund me.
When I checked in, the person seemed like they were unable to see if I had already paid for the booking (which I had via credit card), told my friend and it was later translated to me that you do not use Hotels.com, then I paid in cash believing it had not been paid. I was not provided with a WiFi code yet at this time in order to let me check this myself.
If you do not use Hotels.com, how could have I been messaged during my stay via the Hotels.com website? You asked me to say this was a "no show", which I as a guest could not do. I even tried to comply by cancelling, but I received an error. Regardless, you should have contacted me to do this before my stay, as by the Hotels.com terms it would have been too late to receive a refund past the predetermined time before my booking. Also, if people are reserving rooms and being charged for it, like it or not you ARE on the website service for all legal purposes.
Also, the roomed smelled horribly of septic. As much as we tried to get rid of it and ignore it, it made me very physically ill by the end.
