The service was terrific and the restaurant was quite good. We would definitely stay at TWA again. My husband and I are old enough to remember the airline and the terminal so the nostalgic element was pleasing.

We had no washcloths so we bathed with a hand towel. Called the front desk for some and they sent them up an hour later. The room was too warm. Never dropped down to 66*. When we left it was just at 68*. We ate at the Paris restaurant. Food was good but a bit pricey. Dust bunnies on the bathroom floor.

No Room at Midnight after Long Flight (Pre-paid)

Showed up at 11pm after a cross-country flight from LA and was told they had no room for me. I had pre-paid for the room. Desk clerk told me it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile I watched other people given rooms. Went to the bar for a much needed drink while I waited for my room and found it was closed already. After 45 minutes and speaking to the manager I was finally given a room. I had paid for one with a "historic view" and was given one with "no view" but not offered a discount or apology. Never received a discount or apology at all, in fact. The room had no bottled water or coffee maker. Just en empty room. It was clean, however. On another note, the lobby is filled with homeless and tourists who aren't staying at the hotel who use it as their personal eating area. Every open table in the lobby was covered in trash. See the photo. Wish I could recommend this place but unfortunately can't.

Bait & switch on an iPad kiosk

This is a cool, interesting hotel that is conveniently located on JFK’s AirTrain. I attempted to research the cost of early check-in. This is not listed anywhere on and is also omitted from the TWA hotel website. When I arrived after a red-eye at 08:00 I was keen to check in well before 16:00 to rest. Unfortunately they were full and I was told early check in would not be possible. Further, I could not use any hotel facilities prior to check-in. After discussing this with staff and manager I finally asked about being notified should a room become available. They took my number and called a couple hours later, I returned to check in. At that point I was directed to an iPad kiosk. It was just after 11:30 and the iPad gave me the option to add a late check out for $100, an early check-in between 14:00 and 16:00 for $10 and an early check-in between 12:00 and 14:00 for $25. These were the only options available. Since it was nearly noon, I selected the $25 noon check-in option as that seemed to best correspond with my situation. When I checked out the following morning, my iPad kiosk informed me I had a balance of $75 plus tax for my early check-in. I explained to the desk agent that I had agreed to a $25 charge the day before, not $75. She insisted on $75 but offered a $25 courtesy credit. While I appreciated that I never agreed to this and would have hung out in the lobby for 20 min rather than pay an extra $50. I am now left to contest the charge w/ my cc.

    One word - Disappointing

i wanted to love tbis experience more than i did. In full disclosure- i came into the experience after a long day of travel, stuck in NY bc of flight delays and missed connection and a significant migraine that affects my vision. After spending an entire day standing in endless lines and fighting crowds, I walked into amthe lobby which was a mass of chaos and winding lines. I found myself very pleasantly surprised there was a self check in kiosk.... which was totally empty. And that was where things took a turn. I found thr process a bit confusing and when asked a hotel employee about the keys- she was so unbelievably rude to me- i found myself actually asking her to be kind to me. Which she snapped back she was. When i very respectfully said she actually wasn't - she just walked away. Leaving me bewildered, sick and still without a key to my room. I finally was able to track another person down who did help me but it soured my view on the hotel so much, I don't think I can ever forget it. while the room itself was very cool and very clean, the main areas of hotel looked a bit shabby, filthy carpets walking through the tunnel, dirty lobby floors. I get they really want to capture nostalgia but it is at the cost of using materials that just don't hold up to the amount of traffic that walks through. No restaurant. Food court type set up. Food was sub par. But at least the folks working behind the counter were extremely friendly.

    Amazing time capsule!

The hotel experience overall was amazing, the decor is fantastic. I really felt transported to the 60’s. The service was disappointing, there was no ice or toiletries offered, and the valet parking was underwhelmed... room for improvement.

    Take your money elsewhere.

Was supposed to have a TWA view room but was given a non view room. They advertise their pool with your stay but you have to PAY to use the pool. That’s about as cheap as you can get if you ask me. All around terrible experience at this hotel. I see they get good ratings but let me say they must be bought and paid for. Terrible Hotel.

    Not worth it.

This place's value is the fact that it is directly at JFK. You can see the ppanes coming and flying away and literally walk to the airport. Other than that, it is a hudlge waste of funds. Bear in mind it is in New York so it may just be expensive, but from what I can see it is lacking for the price. The carpet on the main floor is old and dirty and they charge for roof top access and the snacks they give there are too expensive and then they charged a "Covid Recovery" charge of 10%. Was not impressed.

Overall the facility was dirty - carpets, floors, bar area, etc. Cocktails were outrageously expensive and not very good. Nothing felt sanitized. Our room had a strange, unidentifiable smell. Paris Cafe good was good, but wait staff were too busy. We would not recommend this hotel, not would we stay there again.
