New and modern apartment-style hotel. Facilities were great. The bed was amazing! One of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a hotel. Room was clean but not to a high standard. Bathroom had mould in the grouting, lime scale on the taps and the shower had water marks all over the glass. The room was very dusty on all surfaces, this is most likely more noticeable than normal due to the dark décor of the room. However, this has not put me off staying there again, would 100% recommend!

2/10 Poor

Shocking customer service and unusable room
Awful. Night ruined. Checked in at 6pm to discover the room smelt strongly of drains. Complained to the front desk to be told no more rooms available and only option was a discount. We said that a discount would not take away the smell, and that we needed an alternative room. It took three hours to transfer us to an alternative hotel, leaving us with a ruined evening (our only night in Cambridge). Customer service was shocking; at one point, we were asked, ‘What do you want me to do?’ in a manner that suggested it was out problem not theirs. A member of staff also implied this had happened in another room so it is clearly a problem that they are not addressing, other than to squirt air freshner around and ask us if it was all ok now. We were not kept properly informed as to what was happening. Yes, we may have been taken to a hotel at a higher tariff, but it was not of the same standard due to being city centre (which is not where we like to be), and it was in a very busy area full of clubs and bars. Our night was ruined.

Disappointed
We stayed here less than 12 months ago, that's what made us go back. For this 4 night stay, we upgraded ourselves this time from a "Newton" studio to a duplex "Elliot". At £400 a night we expected our room to be clean but it wasn't. We told the reception staff on the morning after check in and were assured it would be cleaned while we were out. But it wasn't. So we mentioned it again the next day, by now the bathroom fan had stopped working too and we were assured that it would be sorted whilst we were out that day. When we returned, there was a note under the door telling us the restaurant was closed that night for the one year opening party so only room service was available, this wasn't mentioned when we checked in two days before. The room still hadn't been cleaned or the fan fixed. When we checked out, this was all discussed again at the desk, no discount offered only an admission that cleaning staff were hard to get. This was a beautiful hotel but just 12 months after opening, is getting shabby which is a terrible shame.

Nice hotel but needs attention in some areas
The front desk that my room would be ready in half an hour but when I returned an hour later I was told it would take longer still and then again later. Bit frustrating. The hotel was very nice overall but the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. The food was not hot.
