Wonderful hotel in quiet, charming neighborhood...
Lovely hotel, with a welcoming staff and a delicious free breakfast. The location is slightly removed from the city center, nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood that is perfectly situated between the downtown/harbor and cool neighborhoods and attractions to the east and west. We were in Oslo for 3.5 days and never used transit or taxis: We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The rooms are very clean and stylish. My only complaint is they lack USB chargers (thankfully I brought a voltage converter) and there was no safe in the room. Even being on the first floor, the room was whisper-quiet and very private. We honestly had no idea so many people were staying at the hotel until breakfast... Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the small bar in the lobby was a lovely place to wrap up a day's explorations. Would definitely stay here again.

The Saga Hotel has 4-5 rooms with non-traditional designs which is worth noting. The first night we were put into one of these rooms which we did not like. In an attempt to be interesting, modern, unique, or space efficient, the room had no walls between the sleeping and bathroom area, and a sliding door which could close off EITHER the shower or toilet area (but not both simultaneously). To be fair, the very friendly and accommodating staff warned us on check-in that “some people love these rooms, and some people hate them”. Well, count us in the latter category. The staff offered to move us to their last remaining traditional room that night, but we chose to wait until morning. The rest of the hotel is more typical in design and was very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. Property is very clean. As we left very early in the morning, a well-prepared takeaway breakfast was considerately prepared by staff for us: sandwiches, yogurt, danishes, coffee cake, bottled smoothie, fresh fruit, with napkins and utensils. The receptionist brought an espresso to our room! Above and beyond our expectations.

This was called a junior suite. But what they meant by that is a sofa bed. However when the sofa bed is out it was not possible to reach the main bed. One had to climb over the sofa bed to get to main bed. Staff was good. Breakfast very good

Affordable luxury in Oslo
Beautiful hotel in a good location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed and linen were very comfortable and of very good quality. We would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast buffet was outstanding.
