    Awful yet very expensive!

The hotel is old and dilapidated. I was swindled into getting some sort of VIP just for free internet access! £160 for a room and it was a single bed, tiny space and the wall obscuring the TV. The bathroom was in dire need of modernisation with the sink itself starting to flake off. It must be said that the shower pressure was very good No air conditioning and plug sockets not where you actually needed them. Finally, no care for data protection as documentation was left in plain view for all people checking in to see.

Beautiful location but dated and in need of repair

The hotel is conveniently located on the seafront and close to the centre of Brighton and the Lakes. It’s a beautiful building but it was sad to see that some of the repairs that should have taken place have not been done, eg, loose taps, loose handles in the bath, scruffed up furniture, and carpet that’s lifting up from the floor to name a few.

Staff are Asset to this Hotel

The hotel is quite pricey for the type of room they offer - they need to consider free parking facilities for their guests … The good side you of the stay - good location, good staff..

    Disappointing

Let’s start with the positives - We had breakfast in the hotel which was very good and the hotels location is good on the seafront. However our room was on the side of the hotel with the view of a wall through filthy windows. The most negative point was the bed, very hard not comfortable and when you moved creaked so woke you up. Rest of the room was tidy enough but nothing special, one chair and one desk chair. Bathroom was acceptable, shower over bath. We did expect more comfort from a 4 star hotel.

    Not Covid Safe

On arrival at 3pm check in time was told car park was full and so had to park on road, only to have car scratched. Good news regarding face coverings BUT then self service breakfast meaning everyone had to share serving spoons - makes no sense and highly concerning re Covid measures

The Hilton Metropole is in dire need of updating and a bit of TLC. The staff were excellent, but the physical nature of the hotel was poor. It looks tatty, the AC didn't work in our room, the hotel was hot overall and it was very expensive at £357.00 for a small double room, on the 5th floor albeit with a seaview. We managed to open the windows, just, to get some fresh air, but it could have been better. Breakfast was good though.

Good location, rooms clean, more face masks

Excellent sea front location, bedroom and bathroom small but clean, comfortable bed and duvet. Very friendly greeting from staff every morning at breakfast. Ample alcohol gel and surface wipes provided in communal spaces. Pillows like cotton wool pancakes though, changing rooms and shower area of swimming pool/spa very neglected and unclean, very disappointing to see so few staff and guests still wearing face masks when serving and mingling in such close proximity.

    Overall good stay

Overall a good stay couple of minor issues. Pillows were not great, after first night I spoke to receptionist who said they would sort something, unfortunately not sorted. Being a lone traveller I ate breakfast alone and twice my table was cleared while I got coffee. Room was clean and reasonable size for a single
