Location great, cleanliness bad.
Location is great, a few seconds from the tower. Cleanliness was very poor. Carpet stains, toilet smelling of urine, missed housekeeping one day.

Overpriced and Avoidable
Detailed Comments: - Overpriced. You are paying for the Eiffel Tower short walk not the hotel room or facilities. - No proper study table/desk + chair for business purposes. There is a cheap desk in the room but without sockets nearby and no desk chair to actually sit down and do work. - Shower stands are at waist height so you cannot shower hands free. - Breakfast is terribly overpriced, I paid €20.99 to eat 2 croissants and drink a coffee. Better to visit external patisserie. - Outside the concerning comments above, I can share that staff are very friendly, accommodating and nice, always open to helping. - - - - - - Summary: - Will avoid stay for next time most definitely. - Hotel is very poor but staff are very nice. - You are better off staying at The Pullman next door as that will be better value for your money.

Pleasant surprise and amazing view
I stayed at the Mercure Paris for one night. After a delayed flight and missing our pre booked Eiffel Tower tickets I was pretty worn out and drenched on my arrival to the hotel. To my surprise we had been selected as “ guests of the day” and got upgraded to a fantastic suite within the hotel with complimentary drinks. The room was especially decorated for Christmas and had a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower which I assume would not have been the same in the standard room we had booked. the service was excellent and being upgraded was a highlight!! The location is perfect, walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Walked to trocadero and arc d triomph and a 5 minute drive away from the Louvre!

Dirty and very unpleasant smelling
Got to the hotel and checked in, went up to the room and as most people that are travelling we were desperate for the toilet! Opened the door and we were hit with the strongest smell of stale urine probably on par with going to a dirty public toilet in the city. Go to turn the tv on to try and kick back and relax and the tv doesn’t work no matter what you press or reset. Go out the next day exploring come back late ready to put our feet up to sleep ready for the next day only to find the room hasn’t been cleaned or “turned down” the rubbish hasn’t been taken out from dinner the previous night and now the toilet smells twice as bad. Went down to speak to reception who advised that they would send clean towels up immediately and would “sort something out on the bill” the next day. Went to check out in the morning explained all the problems showed them the photos / videos and were told the manager wasn’t there so check out now and we would get an email with a solution the next day. It’s now been two days and still no email.

Hotel Mercure - Great View, Dreadful Hotel
Where so start? Well, we booked 2 rooms each with 2 double beds for a family of 6, that were supposed to be interlinked. On arrival we got 2 rooms, next to each other, with only one double bed in each. ‘There’s been a mix-up sorry, we’ll correct it tomorrow’. In the meantime, we were given a choice of staying put in the current rooms, or being upgraded but with rooms on different floors – with 3 small children including a baby this was never really an option. The next day we were told to check out in order to get the new rooms – so we packed everything up again, went downstairs and were told that the new rooms will be the same rooms we had plus 2 more rooms that are connected. Great thank you, we just wasted an hour packing everything up to be told to move back into the same room! The rooms too were very shabby, bits of plaster falling off here and there, chipped woodwork everywhere. Massive cracks running through the basement and garage. In dire need of a facelift. Because of the current strike action, we also had to drive, so I asked to reserve a space for us as we were arriving around midnight. It’s only now that I have noticed that on one side my car has been scratched and dented by the laundry service lorry who throws his doors open wide with no regards to the vehicles parked either side. Again, thank you! Finally, every single one of my children was sick after eating breakfast in your restaurant, one of them actually threw up yesterday in the restaurant foyer. AVOID!
