The AC was awful, none existent. Staff were wonderful.

Friendly, professional staff, excellent service and a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river. The hotel is conveniently located to walk to Old Town. The staff is helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely. We will stay here again.

This is a perfectly fine 3 star hotel. But not more. Therefore, the outdated decor, furniture and general ambience do not justify the price.

Oddly, this hotel lacks hospitality. Its obviously a grand dame from the golden age of Zurich, on the Lake but frankly they are resting on their laurels from 80-100 years ago. When I was checking in early from a red eye they were barely accommodating of holding my bag. They said they were full and wouldn't be able to check me in early. Totally fine, except a quick check on hotels.com says they weren't full. I wouldn't have even checked but there was a woman making a scene in the lobby. The short version of that drama was that they booked out her room because she hadn't been in it for a couple days, but were charging her for the entire stay. Again they cited policy. It was weird but benefit of the doubt I always say. However in the morning of my departure jet lag from the day before I slept in, when I they couldn't offer a 20 minute extension for check out because "they were full" and again cited policy. But would be happy to charge me an extra night for the time. Um.. weren't you just telling me you were full? In short it's a nice location (but keep in mind near the lake, means near the highway that follows the lake, its SUPER LOUD). With a perfectly lovely set of rooms. And a staff that have literally zero hospitality. I love Switzerland because of how rule driven they are, but come on. I was traveling with friends to go hiking and we were meant to return to this hotel at the end of our hike for a night prior to a flight. We canceled, and so should you!
