Well, you're stuck in this area with very limited areas to stay, so they absolutely take advantage of it and charge an arm and a leg. Now, a high rate might be deserved for a higher end hotel, but this place is basically a Motel 6 on top of a ridge. The rooms are terribly appointed - the heating and cooling is simply a window unit bolted into the wall. Yes the view is nice but they seem to charge simply based on that. There's an on site restaurant that seems to think it's a 2 star Michelin rated restaurant but it's far from it. It's average motel dining at best. There are a couple of areas with cabins close by and if we ever go back, that's where we'll stay.

Great view and location near Denali Park. Restaurant is really good. Bar has a great staff and good offerings. Convenient to the park and other nearby attractions. Fun place to stay.

Amazing views in an amazing part of the country. Convenient shuttle system. Nice quiet accommodations. The absolute only negative was abysmal wi-fi. On the other hand, maybe you just need to leave your electronic devices at home.

We thought that our 2 days were wonderful! The location with its view were spectacular and the staff was great! We would recommend going to the Grand Denali to everyone!

Great view, great property, great people BUT, we were on a list of people who would be given an "Aurora wake up call" but didn't get called -- missing out on an aurora that everyone was raving about the next morning. We saw the pics and were very disappointed to miss out on one of our "bucket list items" due to that negligence.

The hotel is very nice and the views are amazing! We had a few drinks on the outside patio overlooking Denali National Park, beautiful. We thought the food and drinks were pricey though. We worried that the road to the hotel might upset our rental car company due to the dips in the driveway.

Amazing view from patio. Appreciated the timely shuttle service, available laundry facilities and offer if a wake up call if the northern lights were visible. Exceeded our expectations many fold!

Nice views, Clean quiet rooms. But besides the one restaurant and snack shop, it does not offer the variety of restaurants or shopping options in downtown Denali. There is no gift shop in hotel. It is a hassle to have to wait for it's shuttles to get back/out of hotel. Not worth the price. Better to stay in a downtown hotel or the cheaper sister hotel Denali Bluffs where one can walk downtown.
