So-so stay
This motel was acceptable. I think I heard that they were understaffed. The person at the front desk was rather rude to me. The pool was not unlocked when it should have been open. Our stay was okay, but we will choose another place to stay when we go back to Grand Rapids again.

Overall ok, but needs some extra detail for clean/
Room was ok, some areas like headboard and light fixtures hadn't been dusted in some time. The pool area was picked up, (except for a stray wad of long hair that is probably now a permanent on the concrete floor) and could have used a good all over maintenance/cleaning. The floor needs powerwashing, and there seems to be a film in the pool and hot tub.... soooo, not sure when the last time that was drained, cleaned, and ph levels checked.

The room was just passably clean. The service was fine. There were ants around the garden tub the second night. The continental breakfast was decent. If we hadn't had a good deal from hotels.com, it would not have been worth it.

Great Value if you aren't boujee
My family and I have stayed at this hotel on at least 5 different occasions over the last 6 years. It's a good value for what it is. The rooms are inexpensive. However, the building is dated and badly needs an update. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is meh. My biggest complaint is that the exterior stairwell doors do not latch to the electric strikes correctly. The doors need to be adjusted. This is a safety issue and maintenance needs to address it.
