Hotel on the Cay

Poor condition staff unaccommodating. Had to look at 5 rooms before one didn’t have something terribly wrong with it. Front staff told me “it was the last room they could show me bc they couldn’t keep showing me rooms bc l didn’t like them” 1st room tv didn’t work and had hair in it. 2nd room smelled like mold and fridge was unplugged and in middle of room. 3rd room the balcony doors didn’t close 4th room ceiling had huge crack and had water damage with paint hanging down 5th room only one light worked - it that was the lesser evil so l took it. TERRIBLE

The location of the hotel is perfect— a small and picturesque island only two minutes by boat from the Christiansted boardwalk. The hotel, it’s self, must have been beautiful at one time. The infrastructure is terrific and the beach is very nice. It appears, however, that no money has been put in this facility for many years. The air conditioners don’t work properly in some rooms, the drywall on the ceiling in one room is buckling down from a water leak, The TVs don't have working remotes and the wifi is spotty. If someone would come in and invest some serious money, this would be one of the best hotels and the entire territory. Sadly, at this time, it is not.

The staff at the hotel was so very helpful. People were more than will to go out of their way. However, the hotel and surrounding buildings have fallen into disrepair. There was no restaurant, other than some limited bar food, the pool was not open, leaky faucet and leaky refrigerator in my room. The owners need to get on this. It's a gold mine for the right investors.

Feel like home environment, very quiet and perfect for doing paperwork when coming back from work. Now restaurant should open for breakfast

I liked to location of the hotel even with having to boat across the channel to the island and the service was very quick never a long wait. The hotel is close to the boardwalk and restaurants. Unfortunately this hotel has run down a bit and showing it's age, the pictures on the web page do not display the reality, the laundry room service was not.t available until the day before leaving and the WiFi was very poor to non existent in our room. I think with a little more maintenance and making sure patio doors opened and screens worked it would help a lot. The beds were terrible, they need replacing urgently, so soft I could barely sleep and my back was sore every morning. In 1992 when last there it was 100% better.

Didnt like the fact that there is no snorkeling rentsl gear available on site. Ponds in landscaping are left unfilled w/ water Food @ bar is way over priced for the quality of food No hot water.......only got slightly warm Patio doors dont lock What was likeable: Beach & ferry Crew on beach that took care of lounge chairs Bar staff great Ferry captains super nice All staff were amazing

The restaurant is good. It was great that you had a beach. The pool opens up the day before we left.
