Shattered expectations!
The stay was average in terms of service. Breakfast timings are inconvenient for people who take day tours and hence leave early in the mornings. They wont allow you to enter the breakfast room before 7am, not even for a cup of coffee. They do provide breakfast boxes that contain only two pieces of bread and some condiments with fruit, which is not wholesome at all. After paying a bomb for breakfast, you don't want to settle for rubbish! Also, if you opt for the box, you won't be allowed to have anything else from the spread post 7am! How fair is that?! Other than the prime location of the hotel, nothing was up to satisfaction. I'd strongly recommend other hotels that would provide much better servicea, have smiling n friendly faces, make u feel welcome, all of that at the same (or lesser)/cost! Disappointed ..

Hotel Villafranca, Rome, Italy
We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in Rome. The room was very clean, nice and bright with a lovely balcony. Hotel is not exactely close to the main touristic areas but is at a walking distance from Termini (Rome main train station) and very close to a metro station so it's still a good choice for a weekend getaway. On the negative side, the room was quite noisy. We could hear our (noisy) neighbours and their t.v. as if they were in our room! Breakfast was not exactly what you would expect. All food was industrial and tasteless, same for coffee and juices. We stayed 3 nights but only had breakfast once and went out the other days.

Highly recommend this hotel and breakfast was fab
Our stay in Villafranca was very nice , would recommend it highly and I don't understand some of the reviews I read as I nearly cancelled booking after reading them. Thank God I didn't, a lot if not all of the negatives I read were completely untrue, it was a lovely central friendly clean big room modern decor ,A1 in my opinion. One thing I might ask them to consider is putting a microwave in the breakfast room to hear up cooked food eg scrambled eggs as they can get cool in Ban Marie (excuse the spelling) when there for a short time. But overall no complaints , we would have no hesitation staying there again.
