Nothing great except the Location
The rooms were decent size when you consider it's NYC but bathroom was thr tiniest I have ever seen and cramped. Things were not working initially like gas stove, air condition and just to report it and get it fixed it took hours. There isn't any one to provide information and everything is routed to front desk who are always busy with checkin. It's a big hotel but a personal touch is completely missing. It's like you rent a room and no one cares. When you report multiple times or scream then someone might help you out. For late checkout for 1 hour they were asking $75. The towels were torn, no ice machine or facility available, coffee mugs were stained and several such other things were not right. Also there was a so called facility fee $35 per day which was told at the time of checkin (later due to issues reported with facilities, hotel revoked that charge) The only thing that works in its favor is the location, right off the Penn Station. I would avoid it in future

Only the Lobby is good
Not good at all. Started with a cramped room without any class, the lobby makes you feel better but the room totally lets you down. Furthermore there are charges of $30 per night which is a very fine print that I obviosuly didnt read... Totally avoidable... My room was on the streetside and even after being on 10th floor, it was way too noisy for a sound sleep... Avoid if you can

First time paying cash was an issue.
First they should make it clear that when paying with cash, you can not pay until day of check out. So I needed a card with total balance of stay, plus the $40/ night resort fee AND $85/ night "deposit" for incidentals. Needless to say this huge "hold" on my card caused much financial stress. Also if you happen to read anywhere that valet parking is included with your stay, that is ONLY if you book directly with the hotel. $150 for an SUV for two nights. Hotel is nice but dated. Carpets are very worn. Bed was too hard for our liking and the sheets were very stiff and scratchy. Staff was very nice. A key card is needed to run elevator and use lobby restrooms so thought guest safety was a priority.

Very good 8.0
The service was excellent. The front desk staff allowed us to check in early without a fee because she saw I had my 9 year old daughter with me. The only issue I had was with the showers. While the room generally was very clean, the shower stall did not seem as clean as the rest of the room.
