Felt more like a 3.5 star hotel. Amazing pool and view! kids loved it. Rooms and restaurants are VERY old and in need of renovation. Lots of bird poo on the seats in our balcony. Very crowded. We had to line up and wait every morning for breakfast. Lobby, restaurants and lifts were in open area with no air-conditioners.

This was our 10th stay at a Shangri-la hotel. Our 4th at this hotel. This was an extremely unusual visit! We stayed for 6 nights. Day one started out unbelievabl!The shower was inaccessible due to door! We did not notice it until 9:15 PM. We “tried”to access the shower. I am only 5’9, and my wife is 5’1. The door swung into the tiny shower. We both could not enter. We went outside on the balcony to see the perfect Sea View! My wife closed the door, and we were locked out!!! We were stuck on the 10th floor balcony for 10 minutes without our phones. No person anywhere to get help. I kept pulling the door! I did not want to break the glass! Finally it opened! My wife took a video of me unable to access the shower! We went to the check in at about 9:30 PM to get another room. The woman was extremely nice like everyone is in Singapore, but told me all the rooms are like that!!! Wow! I have stayed in 1,2, 3,4,5 star hotels hotels and never have I encountered this. I told her this is our 10th stay at Shangri-la, and we always were able to fit in the shower! I showed her the video, and it proved our situation. So we had to uproot, pack all our belongings that we put in the drawers. It took about 25 minutes. We were in the perfect Sea View, room 1033! So we get a different room, 835. It was a Sea View, but not nearly the perfect view of room 1033! Instead of upgrading to a better room for our inconvenience, we got a downgrade! Also construction 3 days above us, even at midnight! Awful

Lovely hotel that overlooks the sea and includes a beach. Pool facilities are great including quick delivery. Outside of the hotel is starting to feel tired, a repaint is needed. Cocktails at the pool are substandard considering the cost. Amazing pool area and activities for the kids.
