Snappers on Straddie is a boutique 5 unit complex in the heart of the 'Old Point' positioned opposite a bus stop and within easy walking distance for key beaches (Cylinder, Deadman's, Frenchman's, South Gorge and Main) as well as a short stroll to the Gelati shop or Bob's (Foodworks) for those groceries. There is a pedestrian gate to the right of the property that provides access to an easement which heads to Frenchman's and Deadman's beach via the Whale track. The property has a relaxed beach feel while providing everything you will need to enjoy your time away. There is easy access to free street parking. Our gardens have been planted with over 500 native plants that are bird, butterfly and bee attracting. Each unit has air-conditioning as well as a private deck or courtyard space including dedicated barbecue and private seating. There is a beautiful garden with a fire pit for relaxing.We use environmentally friendly and sustainable products throughout the units and provide facilities for recycling.
Each apartment feels private and comprises a lounge with futon couch, fully equiped kitchen, bathroom with toilet and shower and a bedroom with queen bed. Each unit has air-conditioning as well as a private deck or courtyard space with a leafy relaxed aspect and includes a dedicated barbecue and seating. There is a beautifully appointed outdoor shower with hot and cold water to rinse after a day at the beach. Next to the outdoor shower is a laundry with washing machine and dryer for guest use. On the colder nights there is a fire pit in the front garden to enjoy.
Guest access to the units is by electronic key code access and provided prior to arrival.
The neighbourhood is the 'old point' located above Deadman's beach and Frenchman's beach. The property has a Long Island history which is provided (in short) in each unit for your nostalgia. Everything at Point Lookout is walkable from here with easy access through the side gates to the beach access tracks
There is a bus stop opposite Snappers on Straddie with regular busses to the other townships and ferry terminals.
Other Things to Note:
Here on Straddie we are lucky to live alongside a dazzling array of iconic Australian Wildlife. It is not unusual for you to spot a koala in one of Snapper's eucalyptus trees while relaxing outside. While walking or driving around, your will see Eastern Grey Kangaroo's grazing on the sidewalks and if you are really lucky, you might catch a glimpse the elusive and shy swamp wallaby. Our wildlife is one of the things that makes Straddie such a unique and special place, so please respect it. Drive slowly and remember these animals are wild, give them the space they need and deserve.
Keep an eye out for all the amazing different bird species to be seen, including am impressive number of species of birds of prey. The ocean around Straddie does not disappoint either, keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, dugong's, humpback whales (May-September), turtles, Manta rays, sharks and if you are snorkelling or fishing- a huge variety of species.
