Sumply the best. I see some reviews complaining about its location being away from the busy area but that's what I liked the best about this hotel. Enjoy your quiet time with locals around the hotel and take that hotel boat shuttle for a quick ride to busy area when you feel like being with big crowd. Facility itself is probably one of the best in town.

Al’s tour of Italy
The hotel is located in a separate island from Venice, although just across the canal, however it’s definitely less convenient. Water taxi charge is € 70 from St. Lucia train station which you need to take when you have a couple of suitcases like us. The hotel shuttle to San Marco can be pain sometimes and overcrowded. The rooms are smaller than expected. Food is average in the hotel and their main Bacaromi restaurant is overrated, and aside from a wonderful view of Venice across the canal, the menu was very limited and food was overpriced. I would stay in a different hotel in the main island if I come back to Venice someday.

The facility was fabulous. Tastefully renovated in 2007, it still has a fresh & new feeling that you won’t find in other properties in Venice. The hotel is a 20 minute water taxi ride from San Marco, which only added to our pleasant adventure. There is a 10 euro charge for the water taxi per person, per stay, which is reasonable. We took a public water taxi directly from the hotel to the airport for 15 euro pp. the trip takes an hour & a half, but you get to see most of the Venetian ports & also Murano, so we thought it was a nice 1.5 hours “on the water”. During our stay, the Concierge also arranged a free, private water taxi from the hotel to a glass factory in Murano. After the tour, the water taxi dropped us off in San Marco. Breakfast was over-the-top… amazing & delicious. Our best meals in Venice! Our Executive King room was beautiful, spacious & comfortable, with a view looking into Venice mainland. However, we we unlucky in our 3 nights’ stay to have neighbors who came home drunk at 3am screaming & fighting every night, who disturbed an entire floor of other guests who chose to stay out of Venice for peace, quiet and a restful night of sleep. Security was called by other guests, besides myself. I think those guests should have been asked to leave the hotel, and I was shocked that they weren’t. Having bad guests next door interrupted our sleep & detracted from what was otherwise a perfect stay for us.

The hotel is big with a huge customer turnover yet with a conservative number of staff who try hard to please everyone . It is on the opposite bank to St Marco but they have a shuttle service for transportation for a one time affordable fee of 10€ . It is very suitable for practical passengers who care less about sophistication..
