Ok But Wouldn’t Return
The best part of Hutchinson Plaza Hotel is the location! The little strip of private beach, and the pier, is lovely. The water is clean and there’s a little space for swimming.
Although we didn’t get the room we reserved (a full suite that sleeps 4) we still had a view, which was great!
Had booked through Hotels.com and was told the room discrepancy could not be addressed since it was a “third party”booking. We hear this a lot so be careful when you book through one of these sites, rather than directly with the hotel.
Seems odd to me, we still paid for the room per usual. Kind of like a third party excuse.
The room was a “suite” but you wouldn’t know it. It was an average small size, 2 person room with a balcony. Musty odor too
The bed was pretty hard and somewhat uncomfortable. Not such a great nights sleep.
You only get one small bath towel, one hand towel, so use them wisely….the bathroom was clean.
We had hoped for a reasonable breakfast given the exemplary reviews about breakfast. Sorry to say it was pretty bad and not at all what was represented on the hotels site, or reviews. Leads to me wonder if these reviews are real or posted to ramp up business.
The coffee was just horrible, served in tiny styrofoam cups. Just terrible coffee, like day old! No bacon, no eggs, no fruit (1banana), no toast….they did have a waffle maker, but no mix for the waffles. It was very slim pickings.
Overall the view, beach and pier are awesome, but that’s not where you sleep.
