Dirty Facecloths left hanging over the shower curtain from previous guests ...during a Global Pandemic when rooms are supposedly being extra deep cleaned and sanitized ... it may be a good idea to re-evaluate cleaning staff.

First room wasn’t clean. Shavings on bathroom counter, urine on toilet seat, hair in tub. Excellent front desk offered suite upgrade which was great. Mostly clean there. I would stay again though. It’s not the problem that’s the problem. It’s what you do about the problem and the front desk staff did the right thing.

I liked the location and the pool. I did not like how noisy it was. There are no noise barriers between rooms or floors. You hear everything! The elephants above us partying woke us up at 11:45pm and 2:30am. Not fun. Kids running in the room above us.... that’s what it sounded like.

My wife and I have stayed at HI&S several times before this and were always very happy with our stay. I was traveling to SJ for a relatives funeral and thought HI&S was the obvious choice. First, upon checking in I was informed there was no longer Coffee or hot breakfasts served due to covid. Seemed logical until I spoke with a cousin who had stayed at HI&S in Moncton and had had coffee and a hot breakfast with social distancing enforced. Obviously this was not a corporate decision. I suggest that SJ review this lack of customer service and reinstate it. Also after stumbling out to MaDonalds to get a hot breakfast at 7 in the morning, upon returning two staff were in the lobby chatting ...and drinking coffee. The room was not worthy of the HI&S brand. It was the smaller room of a suite and though arguably it was sold as an 'Accessible' room, it was, to be charitable, threadbare. Very poor lighting, one over the door and one reading lamp on the left side of the bed lent a lovely, "you're in a dungeon" effect. Very few amenities, small coffee maker, with one cup and a previously opened coffee insert. A waste basket that was too small for my MacDonalds waste. The bathroom was tragic. I have stayed in Accessible rooms before and understand the logic of a wheel in shower. However, there was no waste basket
