Overall disappointing - not good for remote work
Our stay at the hotel was overall average to disappointing. I booked this for me and my wife to stay in Bologna as a stop over for further travels around Italy. The hotel lobby was clean and the staff were friendly, that’s roughly where the positives end. The lift up to the hotel was like a furnace (although it was very hot at the time in the country). The room itself was ok but the bathroom was below standard for what is described as a “luxury” hotel. We booked this hotel as it was described on hotels.com as having a business centre and co-working space. When we enquired about these facilities, we were told it cost €150 per day, this wasn’t clear to us at the time of booking, if it was I wouldn’t have booked. The room we were in was too small for two people to work and the lobby area is not set up to be able to use your laptop to do any meaningful work. When coming to check out, I picked my hat up off the floor of our room (see pic) it was covered in dust. Additionally, our nights sleep wasn’t great due to the air conditioning unit. The AC kept switching on and off which meant the room got incredibly hot during the night and we kept waking up. Location wise it is ok to get into the centre of Bologna with paid parking available if you drive. A note on this there is an extra €6 charge for them to take your car to and from the garage which is not included in the €25 daily charge. I would definitely not stay in this hotel again and would look for an alternative

a big disappointment, could be so much better.
We had booked a Deluxe Double Room. As a beneficiary of the Hotels.com VIP programme, we were supposed to be upgraded if there was availability. instead we were put into a lesser, smaller room than shown in the pictures that we based our booking on. this was significantly smaller and of lesser quality, it ressembled a hospital bedroom from the 50s. we complained and were told not all rooms the same and in fact we had been upgraded to the Family sized room. this was perpostrous. we persisted and eventually we were given a room exactly like what we had based our booking on. This was a good size. the couch was uncomfortable to sit on - it was more a daybed. the ensuite was dated and badly needs an upgrade as do the corridors and common areas. there was no conditioner provided but could be bought from the 'bathshop'. toiletries were in pump action dispensers bolted to the wall. there was little by way of seating in the public areas - a few couches and chairs in the reception area. the bar did not open until 6.30pm. staff were either churlish and unhelpful or very friendly and helpful. this hotel is completely lost as to what it is trying to be. however for three nights in Bologna, it was a disappointment based on the information i had making the choice to book. i feel it was poor value for money and not the type of hotel i wanted to be spending time in on holiday.
