For a hostel experience, this exceeds above and beyond. The area is very close to everything. If you like walking, which I did 80 percent of the time I was in Amsterdam. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the area is being cleaned everyday. Washrooms and bed areas are checked during the day for cleaning. They provide towel and linens when you check in and black out curtains for privacy. If you are a light sleeper, come with your earphones as other guests can create noise which is unavoidable. I think the only missing is a shared kitchen but they have a receiving area where anyone can hang out. There is a convenient store on one corner and a good cafe on the other corner if you want to have some breakfast. Although the hostel itself sells some food if you don’t want to go far. I also would like to suggest for the future, maybe a laundry service in the hostel would be a good idea - although the staff was kind enough to recommend me a 12-15min walk to a laundromat nearby. For a hostel experience, this hostel is probably the cleanest. Keep it up! Would recommend!

This hostel is super up to date and offers curtains which lots of hostels do not. The area of you get a City card is amazing and it is close to a bunch of good cafes.

Comfortable for a 34 year old solo traveller
First up, this is in a great location - lots going on with cute eateries close by, near a canal, by greenery and you can easily walk into the centre. It is well finished and has generally been thought out. Service was friendly and helpful. I was in the 20 bed female dorm on the ground floor; this had minimal space to move and the main door opens directly onto the reception/lounge so sound does enter, and it also causes an issue if the bathroom door is opened at the same time. The bathroom door does not close quietly and most guests didn't think to not allow it to slam, so it can be disruptive. But, bed chambers do block out light, they have enough space and places to put your things, and lockers are spacious. However suitcases do hang out in the corridor so making the space feel and be smaller. In terms of cleanliness, it was always being cleaned in the middle of the day, though a lot of people means it isn't immaculate. The bins could more clearly state 'plastic' and 'general' to encourage less waste. The lounge is a cute comfortable place to hang out; I used it to do work, be on a live call, read, and eat dinner (there were no qualms about bringing in your own food even though they served snacks and drinks). As an older traveller (34) and wanting somewhere quiet to be able to do my work and also be in town for the marathon, it was a good setting. I was comfortable, even if with little sleep due to the noise some people made and this can't be helped in such a large dorm.

I had a great stay at The Bee Hostel. I believe the place had been recently renovated as everything looked very new, clean and modern. The beds were comfortable and provided as much privacy as one could hope at a hostel. The check-in process was easy and fast. The bathroom was kept very clean and the staff was very nice and kind. Highly recommended!
