Poor food ,poor service
Not great , food in bar very poor quality, it was our 3rd hotel stay in the week and definitely the poorest quality. A very average 3 star hotel . Room very small for 4 people . Food and service in bar very poor . Chicken tenders were disgusting. Said it to the waiter , manager came over and apologized, never offered a replacement so she was hungry, took the meal off the bill and offered complimentary desserts 2 of the four of us had desserts I had the ice cream sundae which when came out was a kids dessert made up of cheap chocolate ice cream , cream chocolate sauce . There was no brandy snaps or roasted nuts like stated on the menu. And the little one just had jelly and ice cream . When I paid the bill the desserts were on the bill , I just paid it and left .we won’t be back . It was a sad end to a lovely week

Very classy and relaxing
A lovely hotel! The restaurant and bar were just amazing and the staff were great. This hotel is in a location that isn’t ideal for tourism, but is close enough to make those adventurers know it’s worth it. We were able to get to Clonmacnoise (a don’t miss in Ireland) with ease. It’s very quiet and the room was HUGE. Also, though I didnt Use it, this was one of the only hotels around with a pool, which is nice. And the pool has hours for adults only, which is a nice feature. Wonderful.

False and Misleading photos of Family Room
This was a horrible experience here and i will never book a room at Athlone Springs again. Do not book the family room. The family room which I was given was not as described. It stated that there was a "Sofa Bed", there was instead a small fold out camp bed. The photos of the room are very misleading and indeed FALSE as the the main photo is of the HONEYMOON suite, which i was lead to believe my family room would look like. Also the locks on the windows were broken and windows could easily be opened by my kids leading to a drop to another sloping roof below. Finally after making my complaint to the senior staff I was treated very rudely and quite aggressively. The staff also took my details and said they would contact me to remedy the situation, they haven't had the professional decency to do so. I had no option but to leave immediately despite this being our anniversary celebration with my family. The only positive was the first receptionist Doireann who was professional and friendly, a stark contrast to the hotel and her supervisors. I will never book a room at Athlone Springs again and would advise you to instead book the Radisson or Sheraton.

Could be better.
Some rooms have windows which are broken and do not open and there is no air conditioning. I think this is against building regulations. It was a warm day and the air in the room I was allocated was stifling. After much ado I was moved to a room where the windows could be opened. There were children running amok in the bar at 21:45.

The entire hotel is dirty...absolutely filthy. Vending machines to the hallway doors are all visibly dirty with finger prints smudges everywhere. First room which we had initially looked as though housekeeping didn't clean the bathroom counters or vacuumed the floors. Would never stay there again.
