Views & proximity to the sea were very good. Excellent personal service with welcoming and attentive staff. Range & presentation of restaurant food was excellent. Should we visit Jersey again we would certainly choose to stay here. Although a short distance from the town centre it was very accessible on foot and by public transport.

6/10 Good

The position of the hotel, overlooking the bay was splendid, with a walk along the promenade. Local transport first class, especially with the availability of a range of bus passes to purchase. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. However there was a lack of easily accessible sockets, and the decor was dated, as well as the bathroom. There was a lift to all floors, and on the first floor there was a lounge, accessible for guests with a fabulous view, but again decor and furniture dated. Breakfasts were excellent, with super service from the friendly courteous staff. The significant negative was the noise from music in the lounge which had been let as a private function.

when we arrived we were given a room on the 4th floor, it was terrible, dirty dusty, draws had hairs in, kettle you would not give to a charity shop, teaspoons dirty, the ceiling light only had one bulb out of three working, the room was horrible, we complained ,and after awhile we were moved to a better room, but told we would have to move on our last day, so we moved again, all in all rooms average but hotel needs a overhaul. that said break fast was good lots of choice, staff you could not fault, they all went above and beyond. the main bug bare was the owner Geoff, he deffinatly needs to go to charm school it seemed everthing was a chore, he had no personality, and let the team down, so dont think we will be going back.

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a sea view room which was just above the outside space of the Dockyard Restaurant. Most of the time it was really peaceful listening to the waves, apart from Saturday night when the place was full of youngsters in a variety of stages of drunkeness and all practising who could shout the loudest untill after midnight. The service was spot on and the breakfast was very nice looking over the bay. The hotel is a litle tired and the bathroom was well in need of updating after a few nights in a Marriot Junior Suite probably an unfair comparison although the same price. It is well situated for walking around St Helier and you wont better it for good service but a lick of paint in the bedrooms and somewhere to put the fridge other than on the dressing table could make it even better. We had a great time and pleased we went.

The hotel was very good value for money and the sea views from the room and restaurant were exceptional. The room was clean and had great facilities. My only feedback would be that I don't understand the net curtains in the rooms, because it covered the view which is a major advantage of the hotel. When the water was run there was a loud noise as it re-filled. However this was only a minor quibble The hotel is nice and quiet, but very near a number of restaurants and a short walk into town. The food quality was outstanding and more like 5 star which I was shocked for a 3 star hotel.

Slightly dated, cigarette burns in curtains/netting, no cold water in the room, options were hot or warm… no water pressure for the shower. All of the staff were wonderful, very polite, pleasant and all willing to help, only issue was there was no one on reception at checkout time

Great Location
Booked this place as it was the cheapest bar far, the location is great as it’s right on the front. Shops are a 10 minute walk away and restaurants and pubs are all walkable aswell. The team are great and they organised me a taxi which was good of them. The rooms are a bit tired, I had the single bed room ax I was on my own. It’s simple with an en-suite. The restaurant does meals and they’re OK as it breakfast, again, it’s OK.

We have just returned from this hotel. Firstly the rooms are very old fashioned, we expected this from previous reviews and it was not a problem and the shower and sky tv didn't work very well. Over the road there is an extremely noisy bar which just looks like someone's front room, we cannot believe they got permission for this! The bar/restaurant has a stunning outside area where we sat for many hours watching the view having a drink. At first we thought this hotel bar was very expensive but after going to other places we found it is actually all expensive in Jersey and this hotel was probably the nicest place out of them all. The hotel owner was not very friendly at all...BUT the two guys working the bar were absolutely fantastic!!! The man from Bulgaria was just adorable and so very helpful (These 2 guys are probably a lot to do with why we always went back to our hotel for drinks rather than elsewhere). I hope the owner appreciates them. Our breakfast was not included but we could just go there every morning and pay...the English breakfast was huge and very nice, there was much more on our plates than the menu actually stated, 2 of most things instead of 1. On Friday and Saturday there were live bands which were actually really good, its a shame it didn't attract more of an audience. If we were to return to Jersey we would definitely go to this hotel rather than another one

Small, friendly hotel, close to sea front, so views of the sea from the bar and restaurant area, and option to eat outside in warm weather.
