Good 6.0
The service in the restaurant is terrible (no waiters visible for often 15-20 minutes at a time...seating oneself, then having someone come by —“are you here to eat?” “Yes”...leave...ten minutes...different server...”have you been helped?” “...not really.” and food is inconsistent.

Tranquility at its best - Relax & Enjoy!
For relaxation, a fantastic view, and delicious food, the Sooke Harbour House is the place! The grounds are tranquil and with well-placed seating throughout the grounds, encourages patrons to enjoy the scenery. When checking in, the desk clerk actually escorted me to my room, giving me a tour of the amenities. A small vial of sherry, and chocolate cookies also greeted me. It's the little details, and big outdoors that make this place a highly recommended thumbs up from me.

Very good 8.0
Homey retreat on the bay
Our room looked out to the water, and baby deer walked by the patio and could be seen around the property. Overall very serene and relaxing. The food at the restaurants was good, although it took a while to come out, the service was friendly and attentive. The rooms themselves appear to have been renovated in the late 90s. There aren't any chargers or outlets around the bed for today's electronic devices, which is probably good if you want to unplug. The mattress was a bit hard for my liking, but others may prefer that. There is a Kurig machine in the room for coffee and a kettle, and the room is stocked with wine and other minibar items. The hotel provides umbrellas and rain gear if the weather is wet. There are places to hike nearby, and the beach is in front of the property with a spit extending into the bay that you can walk out on. It's a nice place to retreat either alone, as a couple, or as a family. Very homey feeling, like visiting family. 45 min drive from Victoria.

Lovely Stay
Lovely option. Restaurant offers delicious options in a comforting setting. Service was excellent. Had the opportunity to stay on the third floor. Room was spacious, homey, comfortable. Perks included a log fire place which would be refilled daily with fire wood and newspaper was provided to help start. A sound system with great CD’s, kitchenette, outdoor tub on balcony with breataking views. I would highly recommend walking the area and going Dow tomexplore the shire at low tide in the early morning. House staff provided small plastic shovels and buckets for our children to explore and collect. Our children enjoyed the elevators and the painted walls lining the rooftop And walls of the elevator .Overall the hotel and area are highly recommended.
