Very good
The character of the hotel was great and the room with sea view and balcony was excellent. We had evening meal and while the restaurant was dead the food was very nice. With only a handful of guests the service was slow. After our main the waiter asked if we would like to see the desert menue, it came about five minutes later. Once he gave us the menu he then appeared to forget about us. I assumed that he must have been in the kitchen helping chef, as his truouser and shirt were all stained, but when I went to the toilet he was at reception chin wagging with the manager. At this point I must have jogged his memory as he then came and took our order. Ps at breakfast he was still wearing the same stained clothes as the previous night.

Excellent food. Positioned just out of town on road to the smaller coastal towns that will eventually lead you to St Andrews - which was one of our day trips.

Nice & peaceful stay, excellent value for money!
My colleague and I drove around England/Scotland for about 3 days. On the 2nd night, I was looking for a place north of Edinburgh - something nice and quiet - so next morning, we could leave early for our drive northwards. I found the Kingswood Hotel based on the search on Hotels.com. Had a very nice and comfortable stay. One of their main staff - Mark - was VERY nice and helpful (all of them were!) - and helped my colleague get a Vegan dinner - going the extra length to ensure he got a proper vegetarian meal. He was also very helpful to find us train information into Edinburgh city if we needed to. The hotel is very nicely situated. However, because of a lack of the street number in the address mentioned in Hotels.com, we had some trouble finding it. Eventually, of course, we did. But I would suggest that if there is a street number, they should add that to the address in Hotels.com. The floors were a bit creaky and the beds a bit soft - but overall, the hotel is a great place, especially for leisurely trips where you want peace and quiet. The bar is decent - not as many Single Malts you'd expect in the first Scottish hotel you land at - but adequate. The restaurant is excellent - and the breakfast features both hot and cold food which is more than adequate. Dinner had some great Scottish choices. I had their steak which was cooked amazingly well! One other improvement needed - add power sockets near the beds for phone charging!

Beautiful view of the back.
We had a major problem, which was not quickly resolved. We had to spend two nights in an undesirable room. We were moved to a smaller upstairs room. Staff moved bags for us. Probably won’t stay again.
