Dont be fooled by the pictures on
This is a crumbling grand dame of a property that a family is trying to keep running and having to try every trick to do so. I empathise with their challenge but I do not want to be part of it. Extra charges for beds that I had already stipulated in my booking. Filthy shower enclosure. Stark, prison cell like rooms. The opening picture of a pool on is one 200 metres away that you have to pay to use. Free Parking is very useful. The breakfast is in line if not slightly better than Italian expectations. The train noise is significant.

    Poor 2.0
The hotel advertised a pool, a private beach, chairs and umbrellas. When we arrived they informed us that all of those amenities belong to the hotel nearby! And we could go there and pay extra to rent the beach chairs. Outright lying about their hotel!

A room with a magnificent view
A wonderful hotel across the Mediterranean Sea beach! If you get one of the many the rooms with the view to the sea, you have one of the most beautiful paintings in front of your eyes! Great service, attentif, pleasant lobby, nice room, not the most modern but comfortable and spacious.

    Nice stay overall.
Great stay. Room overlooking the water. Nice breakfast. Older hotel but charming.

Classic hotel that needs some TLC
Hotel Mediterranée is an old classic hotel, that is in desperate need for some tender loving care. The hotel stands facing the sea, just like the name promises, and the view from our room was just glorious. The hotel has, however, seen its best days, and really needs a renovation to restore its former glory. We have, for example, never before stayed in a room where the wooden floor creaks so loudly that you cannot hear what the other person is saying in the room if either of you move around at the same time. It was a physical pleasure to sit down on the bed, or step out in the corridor because the loud creaking sound would at least stop then. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom fine (but we did not get a bath tub in the room like the website had promised we would), it was instead a shower with a broken door mechanism (I had to lift out the doors, and re-attach them so that they would glide normally. Breakfast was good, a pot of freshly made Americano was brought to our table, and the buffet had a good selection of sweet products, not so much savoury. For anybody looking for a restaurant nearby, the local Trattoria Da Franco just some blocks away is a true highlight! Fresh seafood, and delicious pasta! A final bonus was the free parking on the back yard, great with a fenced parking area where to leave the car safely overnight.
