Good hotel. Great location. But .. needs help. :)
Good hotel. Good location. But, Staff is inexperienced and all over the place. They change every few hours at the front desk. Card machine doesn’t work often. My room key had to be renewed everyday even though it was a 3 night stay. I had to specifically / repeatedly ask for my VIP Hotels.com benefits - which even though were on my reservation - the hotel didn’t mention and I had to ask for specifically. Felt cheap to keep reminding them. Hotel food is okay. Nothing great. Cheaper breakfast round the corner at Charlie’s Cafe near the bus stop so don’t sign up for the 12 £ breakfast. Also, more than a couple of times inspite of having a do not disturb on my door - the house keeping staff repeatedly knocked and also opened the door to come in. Which is bizarre.

Welcoming lobby and comfortable rooms.
The stay was fine. They gave us a handicap room and didn’t tell us. But not a big deal. Housekeeping took our towels when we left do not disturb sign out. And left us one clean towel for both of us. The lobby is very welcoming, with bar, pool table,and big couches.

Not good value for the money.
Staff was friendly and in most cases met our expectation. Hotel pretty basic and decidedly overpriced. In all fairness not good value for the money. We paid 200 pounds for one night and 160 for the second. Room amenities were poor for that price. Clean. Good location near the railroad station. Restaurant prices high compared to better venues. Probably would not stay again though we do travel every few years to the area.
