Attempts to contact office for early check in not successful Arrived and the motel looked run down compared to pics on internet, notice on office door said office closed and had to call a number and suddenly they appear. Opened the room and the room smelt badly of damp mildew type stink, room felt damp, the carpet looked like it needed a vacuum, and room tired, no toilet paper, no hand soap. Put heater on and electric blankets on and damp subsised, stink did not. Beds were clean and comfy and shower while old was good. Not visiting again and i wouldnt recommend room 6 to anyone. The stink really was unpleasant

Disappointed traveler.
The biggest concern I had was that the cigarette smell in the room was horrendous and even though the front desk people tried to held it was still there. Very disappointing because we moved to a different motel as my stay in New Plymouth was extended and I paid as much for their room which was of a much higher quality as I did at this motel.

Room is comfortable, clean & tidy - very suitable. Grounds, driveways & steps need attention. A 'grabrail' in shower would be helpful addition for older clients.

It felt like it had been used as social housing. Holes in walls, sofa with fabric peeling off it, curtains half hung. However, appeared pretty clean, with comfortable enough beds and pretty spacious (we had one bedroom unit). Good shower and good access to room.
