    Great Nature Get Away

Stayed in stone lodge. Room was small, but clean and just fine for 2 persons/one night. Great location, State Park, with short walks, ice rink, merry go round. Food was limited due to Covid. Staff allowed us to check in early, which was great and appreciated.

run down facility in prime location - unfortunate

It is a terrible stay because the hotel is ver out-dated with no elevator, no working wi-fi, no phone, no house keeping, and not even sufficient hot water. On our last night's stay over the Thanksgiving weekend, the electricity blew out for the entire hotel, so we have to pack our suitcases in the dark and leave because the night is getting unbearably cold.

    Great natural area

Cool place in a state park. Difficult to find where to check in. Clearer instructions would be helpful. Beautiful area.

    Less than charming

The pictures made this place better than it looked. My room was clean but it was extremely cramped, We have had better space in a small room in Manhattan. As some other reviewers have noted, we were booked in a cottage when we thought we were going to be staying at the main building when it was booked. The entrance to our room was also a tight squeeze past the fireplace in the common room where we had to walk to the the room door. There was even a metal handle sticking out from the stone which is easy to get injured by it. For the cost of the room, we could have stayed at a better hotel.

Absolutely gorgeous area. I unknowingly booked a room at the stone cottages. I was a little concerned, because I was traveling alone, that it was in an isolated area. I felt safe and room was clean and quiet. Just know that when you book here that there are three options for lodging, the Inn, the Overlook Lodge and the Stone Cottages.

Expedia clients fo NOT get booked at the main lodge- they are booked in one of the outbuildings depending on type of room. We arrived after dark—-very difficult to find as signs are not lit up, and there is a horrible roundabout that must be navigated. We got lost without cell phone signal for a good moment- finally able to reach helpful front desk person. Room was disappointing as our view was of the parking lot in direct view of all guests coming through the front door, plus room required too much maintenance to detail. There was no privacy sign. The grab and go breakfast is a drive back to main inn. In summary, place was once beautiful but now corporation is allowing it to get run down with minimal staffing. Disappointed…

The cottage lodge setup is nice. I love it! However the bathroom was extremely small and unable to close the door. I took significant other for bday. He was not satisfied. Due to damage ceiling area and fear of accident. Otherwise. I would visit again. Yup
