The surrounding area is beautiful, with great views from the terrace. The beds were a bit lumpy and uncomfortable though. Overall however a pleasant stay.

Arrived in a storm
I booked this lodge for a stay after a day of driving the Panorama route. The lodge itself is clean and the staff is friendly. We arrived late after running into a attorney and being forced to change a blown-out tire in terrible weather. Then, we got stuck in the sand road which was eroding in the rain. When we finally checked in the staff and owner, Christine, made sandwiches for my family and poured me a large glass of wine while arranging a rental car replacement for us.

Hazyview's Hidden Secret!
I had the pleasure of staying at Chestnut during my trip to Kruger National Park. Overlooking a beautiful vista, the lodge is very well-appointed with clean, spacious, comfortable rooms and super friendly staff. The 3-course dinner on offer was delicious, and the owner even made sure I had breakfast arrangements for my early departure at 5:00. I highly recommend Chestnut Country Lodge to anybody visiting the KNP.

Warm, homely service
The hotel is about 10km from Hazyview including 1-2km of dirt-road, so access to local restaurants not easy. Nice views, attentive staff and homely ambience - excellent value for money.

Zwei Nächte für die Sehenswürdigkeiten um den Blyde River Canyon. Dafür sehr gut gelegen. Die Küche ist gut, die Auswahl naturgemäss beschränkt. Empfang und Service sehr familiär und sehr gut. Die Zimmer dürfen ein wenig grösser sein, die Armaturen im Bad haben schon bessere Zeiten gesehen.

Wir haben den letzten Tag/Nacht nach Aufenthalt im Krüger Park und am Blyde River Canyon hier verbracht und es als wunderbaren Abschluss unserer Südafrikareise empfunden.
